I liked this look so much that I created a very similar-looking canvas using the same stencil and the same technique to hang in my bedroom.
I also bumped into a photo of a herd of elephants, which I used in one of my journal spreads. As I was tidying up the bits of paper, I realized that one of the elephants didn't fit on the page and literally got cut off from the herd. And it was a baby too! I couldn't bear the thought of separating a baby from its mother, even if it was just on a piece of paper. (Art journalling is never just a piece of paper, though, is it? It's our heart and soul!) So I attached it with some masking tape on the back and made a flap out of it! This solution made me so happy! Had I chucked it in the rubbish bin, I would have felt awful about it for days and weeks to come! Or who knows, perhaps forever! I've already shared this page, but without the flap. Here it is again! That's the smallest of the baby elephants, trailing behind! There's just something about this image that's so endearing, don't you think? By the way, the photo is from a National Geographic magazine.
And finally, here are a few photos of my own of some elephant statues we bumped into on one of our outings recently to the Sezincote estate in Gloucestershire:
So, that's my post all about elephants today! Thank you for visiting! What's your favourite animal?
I'm entering the November challenge at Country View Crafts with my elephant canvas. The theme of the challenge is 'blue'. Or I could just enter my coat, LOL!
