I've been playing catch up this week, having missed last week's WOYWW. I forgot to take a photo of my desk, but I can show you my alternative work desk, ie. our dining table. I know I said I was going to keep those gorgeous foiled puzzles until Christmas but I couldn't help having a go at one of them. It is now almost finished - this photo was taken earlier just after I had started it. I think I've found the perfect set-up with this new puzzle board - combined with my old one, I have four sorting boards and it only takes a few seconds to wrap it up and move it out of the way. The dining room gets the evening sun as well, which makes it very pleasant.
Despite my absence, I managed to keep up with my challenges. Here are two weeks' worth of 100-day project teabags. The first lot is simply quotes typewritten directly on the teabags, and the second lot are around the theme of birds of prey to tie in with last week's challenge in the Mixed Media Emporium FB group - two birds with one stone, figuratively speaking! This brings me to #91 - only 9 more to go!
The new challenge this week in the MME FB group was altered playing cards - the biggest challenge for me was to find my playing cards as I knew I had a couple of decks I bought a few years ago just for this purpose! This is what I made with them, front and back:
Hopefully, the weather will now allow us to plant out some of our newly acquired plants and trees. Hubs working on a flower bed at the moment, so I'll have somewhere to put them. Here's a shot of one of our new acquisitions: a passion flower - isn't it fascinating? These flowers keep opening and closing - I wish I could film it in timelapse! (edit: actually, I've just found this
video - it's quite amazing!)
And finally, a photo of Oreo that some of you will have already seen on Facebook - doesn't he look like an owl? Julia said without the whiskers, she would have been fooled LOL!
Happy WOYWW gearing up to the 12th anniversary! xx
Oreo looks like when, Mr Jinx has done something he knows he shouldn't and has been caught doing it! Its a kinda, 'what? It wasn't me,' look! I love the birds and the playing cards! (and of course the teabags, can't leave teabags out, they get huffy!) I must get more stuff! Those cards are relly stunning! I got Gesso, at last!! Now....what should I cover with it?! Happy WOYWW!? Keep Crafting! Stay Safe ((Lyn)) #6
ReplyDeleteLove those teabags. I entered a swap which used teabags once, super surface to work on and . . . .recycling!!
ReplyDeletePoor old Oreo! Give him a hug from me
Have a good week

Such awesome photos. Great idea for the puzzles, Love your wall hanging also. I love teabag art. Beautiful things you've created. I save the tea bags and have used them. That Passion flower is gorgeous. I'll have to read on that. And Oreo is delightful, #22 Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love all your latest creations. We planted a Passion flower to grow up our new pergola but sadly it failed to grow and died 😩 We have replaced it with a Wisteria now.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

That photo of Oreo is hilarious! Love your teabag art and the altered playing cards, they are all so good. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#9)
ReplyDeleteI've seen the photo of Oreo earlier but I keep wondering what he's looking at, he looks as though he's about to attack. You've reminded me that I have some packs of cards somewhere that I originally bought for making ATCs when I used to do the swap with Craft Stamper and I really should find them again. Love how you've used yours and the Tea bgs. We have a passion flower in the garden and I was quite surprised how quickly it got going as it was a tiny plant when we bought it. Will have to watch out for it getting going again. Thank you for the comment about my puppy card too they are sweet stamps. I hardly like to say how many magazines I've bought for the stamps and then not used them! Happy creative woyww, Angela x19x
ReplyDeleteWell, that's the dining room table taken care of.
ReplyDeleteLove both sets of teabags - I would never have thought of typing on them like that - what a fabulous idea - you are so inventive. The birds are striking and I do like the way you have them over the written words.
Fabulous plant - can it go outdoors? Going to watch the video as I have never had one of these plants. I've seen them at garden centres, I think but never bought one.
Love the photo of Oreo, I have been avoiding FB recently nso missed his debut there - how strange, he does indeed look like an owl. Bless him.
Hugs to you all
Neet 7 xx
Your little teabags are just adorable, I love the birds of prey - what fabulous stamps. And the playing cards are fabulous too, I do love the way you use colour. Passion flowers are exquisite aren't they - we used to have a white one that my mum planted but it didn't survive one very bad winter and I was so upset to lose it - I don't think it was as hardy as the purple ones.
ReplyDeleteYes please to the ATC swap - I have your address if you are still at the same address WR11, otherwise would you please send your new one on to me. I haven't moved so the address you have will be the correct one for me.
I love Oreo's impression of an owl - how funny!
Hope you have a great week,
Diana xx #24
Gorgeous passion flower - such a striking colour and form aren't they. I also love your birds of prey pieces - I'm a bird lover so any artwork with them on is fine by me! I would love to swap ATCs so email your address to me twiglet517 at hotmail dot co dot uk. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tea bags altered playing cards! When you reach the number of 100 tea bags, it would be worth showing them alltogether in an exhibition room! Oreo is hilarious looking like an owl, he even looks like a bit dangerous like that.
ReplyDeleteYour teabags are stunning as always, Zsuzsa, especially the birds of prey. Your addition of the white spatters is such a gorgeous finishing touch! Same with the playing cards - brilliant designs! Your jigsaw layout is pretty impressive. No doubt you are eating your meals off your laps these days. I love the picture on the wall above the table too - is there a story behind that?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and for your best wishes about the boob lump. I've got at appointment to see the nurse practitioner at the surgery tomorrow and she will know whether they need to refer me on. I'm feeling pretty OK and relaxed about it at the moment and not allowing myself to think too far ahead which is always a mistake, I think - you end up building castles in the air that have no foundation!
So glad you are enjoying the kitty blanket. I added another four squares this afternoon. You are right - the kitties already have their eye on it and I can see my hubby ending up sitting on the floor again!! My order of wool has just arrived so I don't need to worry about running out. The kitties do love snuggling up together and they do fit together pretty well! Strange about the wholemeal bread. The only bread I buy these days is wraps (and now, pittas) - I make my own so hadn't realised that wholemeal was in short supply. So many weird things going on now, and if you enquire, they are bound to put it down to Covid, as they do with everything these days! I hope you and your hubby find a mutually agreeable place to put your montana when it comes. It will grow vigorously, given half a chance.
Oreo looks really fierce in that photo - he doesn't look like himself at all!
Happy WOYWW,

ReplyDeleteHi Zsuzsa. Well - jigsaws, playing cards, teabags... whatever next! Looks like you have been really busy this past couple of weeks. Well done. Oreo was certainly giving someone or something the stare!!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Ha ha Oreo does in deed look very owlish the way you have caught him in that pose! Absolutely love the bird of prey Tbags, so lovely. Beginning to think I just need to get the wedding ove and maybe I'll feel more creative then. The weather really is crazy - we had a shocking hail storm around 6 o'clock this evening out of nowhere after a beautiful day - I worked in the garden for at least 4 hours! Passion flowers are so lovely, really detailed flowers when you look at them. I have tons of stuff ready to go out or needing potting on so it's outside every chance I get at the min and it is definitely getting a little warmer. Good to hear your flower bed is coming along! Have a great week, stay safe, stay well, love n hugs Cindy #14
ReplyDeleteHi ZsuZsa -Lovely seeing your work space and art, jig saw's etc. I am back on WOYWW after being missing for 8 years - am looking forward to catching up with all the talented people moving forward. Stay safe & well Maurs #33 xxx
ReplyDeleteWowzah, I love the cards - it's been ages since I worked on such a small scale myself, I'm inspired! I had a passion flower in my garden once and it is indeed a lovely flower! Oreo makes me smile, again ('cause I did see the photo before.) Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, hug from Holland! Marit #28
ReplyDeleteLove Oreo's Hedwig impression Zsuzsa. The latest tea bags are great - how clever to be able to type onto the tea bags. Love the altered playing cards too. Good to see an alternate desk too. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteThese may be my most favourite of your tea bags - birds and text are two things that I love. I saw them yestrday but didn't want to rush my comment and things were crazy around here LOL! The images are fabulous - I have been hunting for a bird book I am sure I have for my ATC but am at the point of opting for a printed bird instead. I have a plan LOL! Love the altered playing cards - how funny, me with my card ball queued up and you with your altered ones. That flower is spectacular as well - passed that info on to the Hubster, who is the garden person. My hope is I feel stronger this summer and can work on it with him.
ReplyDeleteCatching up, a day late

I've been so enjoying your work with the teabags, Zsuzsa, and these last two bunches are awesome. I love the look of the typewritten words on the first, and those birds a fabulous. I'm rather sorry they're going to come to an end. Do you think you could just keep on going for three or four more years?!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Zsuzsa, your crafts are brilliant! How did type on teabags? Love the bird series no the playing cards. Oreo does not look happy! Have a great week Angela #23
ReplyDeleteYou're very brave to type straight onto the tea bags - I'd get it all wrong! The birds of prey bags are stunning. Late to the party this week - stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your different weekly inspirations with the tea bags. I wonder what will inspire you next...Gorgeous passion flower indeed. Have a lovely weekend
ReplyDeleteJust sent you my address via messenger x Angela #23

Still trying to catch up with my commenting! Yesterday was Mother's Day here in Australia so after a lovely lunch and lots of fizz I didn't get anything else done...
ReplyDeleteTwo great new sets of teabags!
I am very impressed with your jigsaw set up!
Happy Woyww!
