WOYWW #624: Gelli printed envelopes, mini journal and trial ATCs

Here it is, the 12th anniversary of WOYWW, possibly the longest running blog hop in the history of the internet! Huge congratulations to Julia, our beloved hostess and eternal thanks for facilitating our weekly meet up, come rain or shine. I've only been part of it on and off since 2014 but it feels like forever and WOYWW has irrevocably become part of my life and my Wednesdays would never be the same without it! Without further ado, here's a photo of my desk in the midst of activity:

I knew that sticker maker would come in handy one day! I printed some vintage butterflies and moths on tracing paper and ran them through the machine - it worked remarkably well and I used them to decorate my envelopes and ATCs for the big anniversary swap. I won't show you my ATCs, but I'll give you a glimpse of the envelopes, which I gelli printed.

OK, perhaps I can show you my trial ATCs - these are the ones I made before making the real ones for the swap, just trying out a few things. I'll show you the real ones next week, once they've been received.

Then later I used some of my gelli prints and the left-over bits and pieces on my desk to make a mini journal, which was our new challenge in the Mixed-Media Emporium Facebook group. It just all fell together serendipitously!  Here are a few sample pages: (they are not entirely finished yet - perhaps they never will be - but sometimes less is more.)

That's it for today - happy WOYWW anniversary, everyone! I'm going to be out for most of the day, but I will visit when I'm back. I amazed myself and posted off my pre-arranged ATCs early on Monday (16 of them!) - very much out of character for me as I like to procrastinate until the very last minute. I sent them second class, so they may not have arrived yet. The reason I sent them second class is because the blue stamps suited the envelopes better than the red first class ones, not because I'm stingy LOL! It was purely a design decision!

I still have a few ATCs left over apart from the one reserved for my PIF, so please let me know if anyone else would still like to swap. And if I sent you one, but you're not in a position to send one back, please don't worry about it. It's all for fun, not for stress! See you all later xx

  1. That mini journal deserves a WOW all of its own - it is beautiful and you have inspired me to make a mini book today. Not a clue what it will be like, what it will contain but I want to make one now. That'll keep me out of mischief for the day.
It's going to be like a birthday today waiting for all the atc's I have swapped coming in and I look forward to receiving the wonderful envelope from you. With its carefully chosen postage stamp too!

  2. Happy 12th WOYWW!! Your beautiful ATC has just arrived, it’s gorgeous, thank you so much! I did admire the envelope and now I realise that it was a sticker on the back, so beautiful, loved the atc as well. A sticker machine huh? That sounds fantastic and I want one now, also a Dymo label gizmo, lol! Simple things keep me happy.
Have a fab day on the desks and thank you again for the beautiful ATC!

  3. I have a similar machine, but mine requires paper that is 5 inches wide. I think your butterflies are amazing, both on the envelopes and the journal pages. I even adore the ATCs you tested your design on. Happy 12th Anniversary from # 10.

  4. Thanks for popping by my blog Zsuzsa - where does time go though as I think it must be two years since you were my swap partner for the 10th anniversary! Your ATC's are just wonderful and your journal pages are breathtaking ... I still can't get round to even starting an art journal but hope to get there one day! If you have a spare ATC I'd love to swap with you again ... FB message me your address if you'd like to. Take care, love to you from Debbie xXx

  5. Hi Zsuzsa, your beautiful ATC arrived this morning - thank you so much, it's aboslutely stunning. As you probably know I adore anything butterfly or mothy, so it couldn't have been more perfect. I think the envelope deserves framing as much as the ATC!!
Your sample pages are also amazing - it's always such a delight to visit your desk and be so inspired.
    Happy 12th Anniversary,
    Diana xx #18

  13. Happy WOYWW. Would love to swap with you, if you have a spare. Your mixed media stuff is lovely. I did um and ahh about bringing my gel plate away, but I decided it was too much, what with the paints and everything else. I am looking forward to seeing my ATC’s when we get back. Angela #23

  15. P.S. Another ATC is coming your way - I figured with swapping with so many people my PIF may be someone I had already swapped with so made a different ATC for that purpose.

  17. Hi Zsuzsa. I admit I was laughing about the fact of the design decision regarding the postage. Brilliant!. That is just such fun. Lovely butterfly art today on your desk. The envelopes and practice atcs are beautiful.

  23. Zsuzsa, you ALWAYS make me laugh! Just like you to have a "design debate" with your stamps! I've never seen a stamp maker, but like you said, it sure did come in handy for your ATC project!! I love those butterflies and......can I say, that if those ATC's that you made are "just trying out a few things," I can't wait to see the "real" ones! I love the colors in the background and the envelope is yummy as well! I still have the ATC's that you made me years ago in my ATC book and the envelopes that went with! I love how you do them because they feel like "butter" when you are done! I don't know how you do that, but they are so soft and yummy! :) Your mini journal is GORGE! I love the colors again and those butterflies! You know how to make it happen my friend! I will just now be getting started with my ATC's so they will be late for sure, but DEFINITELY will be sending your way! How could I not, right???? LOL Hope all is going well in your neck of the woods and you are seeing some bright and warmer days now!! It's balmy here, but what's new! LOL Blessings to you my friend and Happy 12th.....I think you are the one who got me here to Julia's desk in the first place!!! So thanks to YOU! LOL Felicia #34 xoxo

  24. Hi Zsuzsa, happy 12th Anniversary. Thank you so much for my ATC. I did have all good intentions last week of trying to join in, but sadly they didnt come to fruition. However, I will most definitely make at least 1 for yourself, and maybe a few more - they will just be a little late! You make everything look so easy, the mini journal would never have been more than an idea in my head- I love how you just 'create' and it looks so wonderfully perfect. I really must start using my gelli plate more! Thank you for visiting my blog, and your lovely comment on my baby blanket - I crochet better than I craft lol. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #20

  28. Thank you for the beautiful ATC, you are quite right about the sticker maker, it’s stuck Wally well, beautiful sticky coverage. I love the artistic dilemma about the postage stamp colour, that says so much about you and it makes me smile hugely! As for the lovely little journal....how do you know it’s not finished? I’ve never understood how you real artists know when to call it finished!

  30. Hi Zsuzsa! Happy 12th Anniversary! Sorry I'm so late, the days just get away from me somehow. Thank you for your visit to mine, and for all the congrats about the new Grandbaby. She is so cute, and already giving her Mama all sorts of trouble (well, she's a Taurus!) I LOVE all your ATCs and journal pages! The butterflies and moths are gorgeous! I doing butterflies for my June Bullet Journal month, if I can around to it! I have a sticker maker too, but I mainly use it for vellum - it's perfect! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #36
