I almost didn't write this post, thinking I can skip one, but I seem to be addicted, so here I am again for WOYWW #620 nearing the 12th anniversary! Hopefully, short and sweet this time around. I didn't have much time to play this past week but I still managed to keep up with my challenges. This desk shot was taken last Saturday - I was running late with my 100-day teabag project, so I opted for something simple and white embossed some stamped images directly on the surface of the teabags showing off their natural stains. At least that TH stamping platform wasn't completely wasted on me!
This also tied in with this week's challenge in the Mixed Media Emporium FB group (although I didn't know at the time) which was "insects" so I was able to use my trial pieces for a journal page.
And now for some enabling! I wandered into my local Works rejoicing that they are now open again and picked up these two puzzles - I couldn't choose between them, so I had to buy both! I'll keep them for next winter - something to look forward to! They're gold foiled, which makes them quite special, though it will be tricky gluing them together. I think some super gloss ModPodge might do it, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
.
Remember the snowy tree from last week? Here it is a week later in full bloom buzzing with bumble bees! Looks like spring has finally arrived (again) and it wasn't even frosty this morning!
See I can do short and sweet! See you in a bit! xx
So hi my friend!! Unlike you, I missed a couple of weeks!! LOL I don't think I EVER got that "Perfect Attendance" award at school either! LOLOL Those tea bags are AMAZING!!! They make a HUGE statement, just like they are!! And, I think someone was looking out for you when you could use them for your journal page, which by the way, is equally gorgeous!! I love when you use the leaves, they are such pretty additions!! LOVE your puzzle picks! I sure do wish I lived closer so I could pop over for some of that tea you've been drinking up for those tea bag projects and sit in on the puzzle making! I love puzzles, but my kids hate it. Who hates puzzles????? I must have done some bad memory puzzle times when they were wee ones? LOLOL Look forward to seeing how you fashion those together!!! That tree is simply gorgeous!!! Hard to believe it was just covered with snow. Although, there are still some states here dealing with the powdery stuff! NOT Georgia however! The HOT sun is right on time, I tell you! LOL I love sun, but sure would love a spring for once in my life!! Happy Wednesday to you my friend and hope you all remain safe and well! Blessings, Felicia #21
ReplyDeleteI just love white on kraft. Your samples are simply stunning. The journal page takes my breath away. LOVE IT . Cannot believe it is only a week between the snow and full flower. WOYWW is blowing me away this week!
ReplyDeleteSidetracked momentarily by a new project but determined to visit ALL today! :D

Those tea bags are fantastic, I love the simplicity of fate white image, especially the ammonite! The journal page is amazing too, in your signature colour ways, gorgeous! The puzzles look great, you can pick up some fab stuff in The Works. Look at that glorious blossom, I LOVE this time of year when everything is splurging.
ReplyDeleteHugs LLJ 6 xxx
Your insects page is just gorgeous - I do love the stamps you used. The jigsaws look fab, you can get some great things in the Works can't you. Beautiful blossom, we have loads on the pear tree but not much on the apple and I can't remember if that is normal or not so will have to wait and see what the crops are like this year!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,
Diana xx #16
I spent my morning making two very special Memory bears and now have time to catch up on a few of my favourite blogs.
ReplyDeleteI love the insect tea bags this week and your blossom is looking amazing.
Hugs,
Annie x #9
I love the variety of colour in that cherry tree but who'd have thought it would be like this a week after your snow?! The embossing looks so striking on the tea bags and looks amazing in your journal. Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #5
ReplyDeleteGosh, that bush is absolutely beautiful. What a lovely picture to end your post on - and what a fab picture to start with, your desk, and then a view of those teabags with the white embossing on. I would have thought the ep would have stuck to various bits of the teabag causing lots of spots but it hasn't, they are as clear as the day. I think I like them best of all - but thinking back I don't know. Let's just put them in my top ten. Some of them in your journal have made a superb page for you. You really have this journaling lark off to a tee (or should I say ntea this week - sorry, couldn't resist)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet 7 xx
ps yes it is too late - it's gone! Not too short though but more in keeping with my old age than it was. At least it made me realise just how thick my hair is - I pester my poor hairdresser with cries of "is it getting thin?" Today I kept quiet.
xx
Beautiful blossom. Your journal page is fabulous. Happy WOYWW and have a great week Angela #3
ReplyDeletewhat great teabag art, and the journal page too! I do love white embossing. the bush has really recovered from it's snow last week! Happy WOYWW Helen #4
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to drink more tea these little works of art are gorgeous and the pages are brilliant. Loving the puzzles though if you're like me they will still be sitting unboxed next year though of course that means that you wont have got bored enough to have to open them! Nice flowers too. You take care and have a very happy creative woyww, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteHello there! Love your little tea bags these are just darling - they may be simple but very effective!! Thank you for your earlier visit - I do my morning walk in 2 stages of about 45 mins each. I come home in between, quickly use the facilities (what can I say, I am a lady of a certain age....) grab a piece of fruit and go straight out again. This was my daughter's brilliant solution when I complained to my daughter I couldn't walk far enough without needing the loo!! I try and leave before 8, which usually means I've done everything and had my breakfast ready to go by 10. It's working at the mo anyway. So glad you like the garden - I'll let you into a secret, I trained as a garden designer (I have a postgraduate diploma and everything) and I did it alongside my regular job until about 10 years ago. So I have aspirations if not always the means to carry them out! Hubbies though are very useful as long as they have been trained to follow insrtuctions.... Have a lllllgreat week, hope you find more time to craft! Stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy #23
ReplyDeleteDo you remember last year I was trying, without a great deal of success, to stamp with bleach on teabags, Zsuzsa? What you have done with your white embossing is pretty much the effect I was attempting to achieve! Once I get back in the studio I must have a go at this as it seems to be the answer. I love the natural stains on the teabags and always like to retain that if possible. I've also done art work from the stains left by drying teabags on watercolour paper - that's really fun to do. How pretty is your blossom tree?! Just gorgeous. Our apple tree is sprouting leaves now, but no blossom quite yet, and the Clematis montana is just loaded with buds, ready to burst. It is so prolific and gives a gorgeous show of blossoms but sadly only for a fairly short time. I just love this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit. I agree with you 100% about Prince Philip's "gaffes" - my uncle knew him very well because he was one of the Regional Organisers for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and he liked and admired him greatly - he loved his sense of humour and the fact that he just spoke his mind. I remember that particular "gaffe" well! As you say, the trouble is with the woke brigade is that they have absolutely no sense of humour, and a lot of people get pretty fed up with their taking it upon themselves to be offended on their behalf when there is no need for it. The whole thing is killing comedy stone dead and these people don't seem to be able to distinguish between humorous un-PC banter and genuine insults. What have we come to... I've been watching YouTube videos over the past couple of days with Bill Leak (an Australian cartoonist - brilliant, and a really amusing speaker) and the latest one featured Barry Humphreys as "Sir Les Paterson" - both completely non-PC and absolutely hilarious! Australians have a robust sense of humour and aren't afraid of negative come-back. It's time we regained the high ground and put a stop to all this nonsense in my opinion! It's completely ruining society. (Shoshi on her soap box...)
I hope Oreo is enjoying the spring sunshine as much as Lily and Ruby.
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi x #20
The simple teabags are simply lovely and I do like the insect journal page that came about as well. Happy Spring :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the simplicity of the white embossing against the tea bags Zsuzsa, but then white embossed kraft card is a favourite of mine too. Fantastic journal page and photo of the tree. Meow to Oreo. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting again, Zsuzsa - you and I are obviously on the same wavelength! I also watch Sky News Australia - amazing how different it is from the UK version... Another channel I follow which is first-class, is UK Column. Real in-depth stuff and some pretty scary things they ain't telling us on MSM! Regarding the Clematis montana - be aware that this is an extremely prolific plant and will go berserk in the garden, given half a chance! It needs some pretty vigorous cutting back in the autumn. It only flowers for a brief period but it is absolutely glorious when in flower. The leaves are quite attractive, and it has softened the look of the garage splendidly. I've just trained a long trailer over the archway at the top of the steps and it will spread over that. When we first got it, it was a very small plant in a pot and my hubby suggested we bought two - I laughed out loud and said definitely not - he'd soon to live to regret that decision! Last year we had precisely ONE flower on the whole thing because my hubby cut it back at the wrong time. This year it's coming back with a vengeance!
ReplyDelete(Having another look - I just LOVE those teabags of yours...)

Oh, I'm loving that white embossing on those tea-stained bags, and they look especially fabulous on that journal page as well!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful that all the trees are flowering and that spring is truly manifesting? Happy days!
So wonderful teabags again, Zsuzsa! My favourite one is number 72 with the shell. Hope spring has come to stay in England as well now. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteForgot to say, the ammonite on the back of my oversized shirt (bought from a charity shop to wear for crafting so it got stencilled quite a bit - mainly on the shoulders) is a stencil by Andy Skinner.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
It is just acrylic paint, probably Deco Art - I always stencil on clothing with it and then iron it several times on the wrong side before wearing. It has been washed and washed and stayed the same.
DeleteThanks for the info, Neet! Will try it!
DeleteHi Zsuzsa! I LOVE the white insects on the teabags! they really pop! And you used them so well on that gorgeous journal page! You are my tea bag inspiration go to gal! The tree blossoms are beautiful, we have lilacs and crab apple, both of which are just barely starting to bud, much less bloom! But the Magnolias around the neighborhood are in full bloom and so gorgeous! I keep getting posts saying "foxes don't attack cats", but I'm not so sure about that! Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Lindart #27
ReplyDeleteFabulous teabags and journal page!
ReplyDeleteAnd look at that beautiful blossom!
Happy WOYWW!
