Wanderlust Week02: Little Reminders Mini Journal

Week02 of Wanderlust brought us a journalling lesson by Kate Crane. She didn't just show us her unique journalling technique, but she also taught us how to construct a mini accordion travel journal.

As I don't travel much, I chose to make a journal of a different theme and call it my 'little reminders'. These are inspirational thoughts I want to keep in mind as I journey through 2016. I used Kate's project for inspiration, but I went my own way with the construction of the journal and kept it quite simple. Here's what I did a little bit differently from the lesson:

I used a single A3 sheet cut in two and attached the two lengths with masking tape to form an accordion style booklet. I added copper gilding wax to the covers, which accentuated the raised areas of my textured surface. I added two pieces of ribbon coloured with acrylics and tied them in a bow wrapped around the journal. I used mainly collage materials and stencils on my pages. The page titles are computer printouts.
