WOYWW #612: Mojo returned well and truly

I've been pretty productive this past week, so I think my theory was correct - my mojo does live on my desk and therefore I should keep it messy. Or at least, that's how I justify it. This will be a photo-heavy post, so I'll try to keep the blabber to a minimum. This shot of my desk was taken last night for WOYWW:

It shows the next batch of teabags for #the100dayproject in progress - but I still have to show you last week's produce for days 15-21. (I know it's a bit of a cheat working on them in batches rather than one a day, but it suits me better this way and no one will call me out on it!)

The new batch will feature hearts - I've made a sample, though the real things will end up looking slightly different - they always do!  (This one's dedicated to Shaz...)

This idea actually came to me after an impulse spread I created in one of my journals using torn pieces of  scraps lying around (the very reason I need to keep my desk untidy!)

The photoshoot was hindered by a certain black and white cat:

Wait, it got worse!

I've also tried gelli printing with distress oxides and white acrylics - it produced some nice, soft prints. You might recognise the doily die-cut in my journal page above - I first used it on these gelli prints and then stuck it down on my journal page - I can always cut another one!

I used these prints to decorate one of those die-cut folio journals lying on my desk last week - they're perfect for housing some cards I made years ago:

And if that wasn't enough, I've also joined The Mixed Media Emporium challenge group on Facebook. The challenge this week was to create a masterboard with just collaged elements. Mine included teabags, inked book pages and jelly prints. Everything foraged from my desk!

OK, I won't keep you up any longer! Thanks for your visit. I hope you all have a good week! xx

  1. Happy WOYWW and thank you for the inspiration to get going with some mixed media again. I miss messy crafting! So many fabulous projects and the card for Shaz is truly beautiful. Going to Facebook now to look for that challenge group. Ali x #26

  2. Oh my Zsuzsa you've been a very creative girl, lovely co-ordinated teabags and I agree distress oxide gelli prints are very soft in design, they certainly hit the vintage shabby chic style I love. That's a handy tool now that folio, I like it when we can keep previous makes all in one place.
Oreo made me laugh, look how he's studying your artwork, he obviously loves it he's almost claimed it for his own hee hee.
Sending creative HUgs your way this WoywW Tracey xx
P.S the wire is for embellishments not jewellery, it's far to bent and tarnished to wear. Have a great weekend x

  3. Morning Zsuzsa. Well, your photos have proven that your mojo does indeed live on your desk - and it has certainly returned in full force - you most definitely don't need to tidy your desk too much!!!
    Great work this week.
    Take care. God bless.

  5. Oh, our cats do the same as Oreo! Doesn’t matter what it is you’re looking at, they think that it can be made better by the addition of a furry friend on top. You’ve shown some gorgeous pieces this week, I do like the series of hearts and Shaz’s is beautiful.
    Hugs LLJ 5 xx

  7. How lovely to dedicate one of your pieces to Shaz - that is so nice and it is very appropriate. Nothing wrong with batch making, it makes sense to me and if you are on a rol it is best to keep the momentum going. Love the colour choice.
Of course Oreo had to get in the shot, we miss hi when he is not around on woyww day.
I join in with Art Journal Journey each Thursday and at the moment the theme is 'heavy metal' (it has to be a journal page of a minimum size) but looking at your lovely rust pieces I can see that being a valid entry.
    Hugs, Neet 21 xx
ps if you go back to myk blog and read today's comment from my friend Paul you will certainly smile, re the risquè bit x

  8. Once Mr Mojo gets in the mood you have to keep the ideas coming before he thinks it's time up Lol! Making a Masterboard with bit and pieces is one of my favourites though not done it for a while...maybe soon. I'm just glad the dogs can't jump that high or I'd never get any peace. Have a lovely week and happy woyww, Angela x19x

  9. Firstly, thank you so much for your reply about the tea bag art. It's on my list to try once I've finished my current articles. Every week I'm so inspired by your blog, especially the 100 day tea bags of course. I do really love the masterboard too and admire anyone who can bring these things together so well. I just can't seem to create anything that looks finished, no matter how much I keep adding! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #14

  10. WOW what a feast for the eyes. Love your week's worth of teabags for the 100 day project. Love how they are similarly coloured/embellished but all quite different. Love the hearts too and what a naughty cat!
As for all my photos, I only got printed the ones I wanted to scrap, so that type of sorting was done over the past few weeks before I ordered the prints. What I meant was they arrive all out of order so I need to do that first, order them into months for all of 2020 - Oh MY, putting it off still. Just done the house filing and had put that off for 18 months - ouch - comes from having husband and son home 24/7 and the filing is in the room they use.
Happy WOYWW and thanks for the visit BJ#1

  11. I’m really late in the day doing my visits this week...I’ve just crawled out from under a pile of Memory bears.
What a feast for my eyes. I really love all you’ve been doing this week

  13. Oooh Zsuzsa, all your projects are positively YUMMY this week, and making my mouth water! Thank goodness for the return of your mojo. Lovely to see Oreo doing a bit of photobombing too!

Thank you for your visit. I think the main reason they add all the salt and sugar to "foods" (note inverted commas - it isn't real food, it just pretends to be!!) is because of the mania for low-fat. When they took the fat out, the food as so bland and tasteless that nobody would want to eat it. Adding loads of salt and sugar makes it delicious again. The "food" manufacturers have teams of experts who know what triggers food addiction in people and they add combinations of ingredients that they know people won't be able to resist. I'm afraid it's all about the Bottom Line with them, and they don't care a hoot that it's actually killing people...

I've started a new batch of yoghurt today with some of the soya milk my hubby bought by mistake. It will be interesting to see how it compares that made with my home-made soya milk which tastes a lot "beanier" than the bought plain yoghurt. We shall see, anyway.

I'm glad you enjoyed the various animals on my blog this week - I shall certainly continue to post updates about the new Lily. I agree with you, I'd spoil them far too much - but my hubby would be worse! He's such a softie and the kitties get away with absolute murder.

    Happy WOYWW,

  14. You’re absolutely right Zsu, you are definitely an artist that benefits from a frame worthy desk. Love the weeks teabag series, and I agree, one a day would I think, interrupt your flow too much! Oreo made me laugh, my word how cats like to get in on the act!

  16. Loving the colours in the masterboard! Nice set of #100days art too, I also tend to work on the sets rather than singles- whatever works is my best option here!!!

  17. Damn it! Internet has been doing this thing where I type away for AGES and then the screen refreshes or finishes loading or whatever, and all I typed disappears!! Most annoying. As I was saying, I saw the collage MB video as well and if it is the same person, she also talks about how she scans and prints her MBs so she keeps the originals as true MASTERS. Love that idea. YOURs is lovely too and I adore your tea bag collection with hearts. I really look forward to seeing what the whole 100 days looks like together at the end. What FUN!

Oh no! I'm late for WOYWW!

  21. Wow! Great work this week! I love the tea bag project, I really must get my tea bags out and join you. Too bad we couldn't meet, we'd have a blast! I think doing them en masse as they say is wonderful - nothing wrong with it! Oreo is choosing to lie on some gorgeous colours, his black and white really sets it off! Thanks for your visit, Lindart #36

  22. Thank you for the friend request, I normally post everything to my CraftingWithJack page. My niece just nominated me to post 10 art works, I think I am meant to nominate other people, but I don't like to ask people! I have just posted my collages in the group.

  25. ok...can I ask a really silly question. I love the teabags...they look like tea bags but, have they still got old tea in them? Stop laughing. I have loads of tea bags. they got in the compost. Love everything you've done this week. Speially the mess, that's really, super messy! Sorry I'm so late, my new laptop is silver and I can't see the letters (they have lights) so it takes me ages to type anything! Stay safe! Happy WOYWW ((Lyn)) #6
