WOYWW #655: Advent Journal 2021 Week 3 and Ugly Art Challenge

I'm terribly late today. Although I'm off work now, I woke up with a debilitating migraine. Nothing unusual, it happens all the time - and thankfully never lasts too long. I'm back to my normal cheery old self again. A quick show of my desk late last night:

That's my latest page in my advent journal - only 3 more pages to go - which means just three more days till Christmas! I'll just show you my pages for days 15-21. Some of them are double spreads.

On Monday a new challenge kicked off by #theuglyartclub. You have 5 minutes to create something - anything - ugly or not - doesn't matter. The challenge runs for two weeks. Here are my pieces for the first two days, just using my scraps on a brown paper bag (my butterfly ban was lifted for this project!):

I'm glad I made it today after all - I couldn't have left without wishing you all a lovely Christmas!

I plan to be back before the New Year! xx

  4. Hi! Migraines suck. I hope yours is gone now! Yes, Mittsy is absolutely getting at the tree for attention! Good thing I love cats! Your journal is coming along very nicely, I see it all the time on Instagram! Lots of natural items, very earthy and textural. Beautiful! I wish you a wonderful Christmas, full of love, joy and family, which is, after all, what we need most! Lindart #24

  7. So pleased the migraine didn't last too long. I don't get them too often but when I do that's it. I do use Migraleve and if I can catch it quick enough it works wonders though I do tend to feel rather overly relaxed when i take them and I can well understand how some people become addicted to them. Any way I'm a bit a late, started okay then had to go into town for my new glasses and lenses, just felt tired when I got back but I'm here now. I hope you all have a lovely woyww Christmas. Hugs, Angela x11x

  10. Glad the migraine backed off - I don't suffer from them but know a lot of people who do. They sound awful. I love your journal pages, and I wish I had the time to do that 5 minute ugly challenge. If it runs for two weeks maybe after the holidays I can squeeze in a day - it sounds like just the thing I need to get some art journaling done!

A most Merry and Happy Christmas to you and yours! Stay safe and well this holiday season.

  13. Hi Zsuzsa, just seen your message over at mine about the Migraleve. The pink ones are what helps with the nausea and the migraine at the same time. If you take them early enough they will stop it.......unfortunately I know this from experience. The yellow ones are just paracetamol and you take these afterwards if it's necessary so I generally just buy the pink ones which you can get on their own or in a mixed packet as we always have paracetamol. I'm sure you will not be disappointed with them. Some months ago they were difficult to obtain and I went to the doctor to try and get something similar and he said there was nothing like them and you would have to take two different tablets to get the same effect and then he wasn't sure it would work as well. Hope they work for you too. Have a lovely Christmas. Hugs, Angela xXx

  15. Oh dear, you have my sympathy as a migraine sufferer. My sister gets migraines too and they are horrible. Hope you're well today. The Ugly Art Club sounds fun. It must be very freeing knowing you don't need to produce perfect pages. Yours are interesting and I like the materials you've used. Have a good week. Merry Christmas to you and yours. 17. i glad you I’m glad you made it too, and I’m so late that today is Christmas Day! Good grief, it came so fast…as if I didn’t know when it is! You couldn’t make ugly art if you tried gal, you aren’t wired right for that! Happy Christmas, enjoy a break. Xxxx
