The week has gone so fast! I can't believe we're a week into Advent already. And that means 7 pages in my new journal completed. My desk doesn't look quite as tidy as it did last week - that's a week's worth of junk accumulated already - I really must learn to tidy up each day - it would only take a few minutes.
I'll just quickly show you the 7 pages/spreads completed. When I start a new journal, it always takes the first few pages to settle into a style - you'll see here where that's happened - where I found my feet - it's not something I do on purpose - it just happens. So here are my pages in chronological order (click to enlarge):
I know I said no butterflies in this journal, but I had to sneak in a tiny one (see if you can spot it!) - only because Julia said she'll eat her hat if I can resist - and I didn't want her to have to do that!
I played a bit more with the snowy photos I took last week - we haven't had any more snow since (insert sad face). This was edited with a fake sky and fake birds! (click twice)
Hope everyone's ok! Happy #653
I do like your new journal pages very much and this is the first time that I wouldn’t have guessed it was your work if it wasn’t featured on your blog! They remind me of paintings on frescoes in Italy, that sort of mottled, faded effect..it’s gorgeous. I look forward to seeing the progress of the rest of the pages!

Found the butterfly but won't spoil it for someone else. I agree with LLJ above, your pages remind me of Italian Frescoes, I love how you achieve that effect and I love each and every one of your Advent pages.
ReplyDeleteHad to smile at how long you have had hour decorations up, I thought I was early on the 1st. At the moment am steeling myself against the temptation to dip into the chocolate box (a big one with lots of goodies inside) but must admit to mince pies and Gluhwein being quaffed regularly.

Just mentioned Christmas Cake on someone else's blog and forgot to put in my comment to you - YES I DID get the cherries this year. In fact I bought them well ahead of time just to make sure I had them - and the whole tub has gone in. If I don't get a whole one I will be so cross (I halve most of them()

Yes I spotted the little butterfly on the mug....it just had to be done 😀 You can’t create like you do without the mess so please no excuses....I only see the gorgeous pages.

I think once December arrives the weeks just fly past. Loving the journal pages. I know what you mean about settling into a style. When I was teaching I used to encourage the children to start four pages in from the front of a new sketchbook it always feels less stressful than starting at the front then once you feel confident you can complete the front pages. Clever video, love it. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x10x
ReplyDeleteThat's a good tip! And it is about the first 4 pages that are tricky!
DeleteStunning journal - I can never single out one page over the other as they are all so lovely! Funny your butterfly looks just like the THREE (!) I have found roaming around inside the house lately. Glad they weren't clothing moths after my knitting. The Dec 3rd lady looks a bit shell-shocked - she must be behind on her cardmaking .... DOH!
ReplyDeleteLate again, but Happy WOYWW!

LOL indeed, she must be behind with her Christmas cards!
DeleteOh you've got a fabulous start on your journal, Zsuzsa, and I applaud your butterfly addition to avoid the hat-eating incident. That's a soaring little video to complement such a beautiful series of rich journal pages!
ReplyDeleteNo, I can’t see the page where you settled into your style, it all looks like your style to me, and as gorgeous as ever. I smiled when I saw the butterfly…thank you for saving me from having wool stuck in my teeth! Loved the video, clever!
ReplyDeleteThose new journal pages are beautiful, Zsuzsa! Yes, it is incredible that another year has almost gone...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. I love seeing them in a weekly summary post. Obviously not a summery post ;-) Waving from NZ with love xo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous journal, spotted the butterfly and the sweet peas. Super job BJ#8
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, your journal pages are just amazing! Stay Safe, keep crafting. Happy very late WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#13
ReplyDeleteBeautiful journal pages; they remind me of a cross between frescoes and faded French advertising hoardings. I confess I didn’t find the butterfly till it was pointed out to me. Ah well!
ReplyDeleteTake care, stay safe and happy WOYWW
