This is one of my many pours over the weekend - I had to stop as I ran out of places to dry my canvases - they do take at least 3 days to dry. I bought a cheap baking tray to catch the drippings and they dry as an acrylic skin - eventually - mine's still drying after 4 days - but once dry, the paint will just peel off - it's pretty neat! Here's a closer look at the canvas while it was still wet, and another shot now that it's dry. It's not just the lighting - they do look quite different when they're dry - even the colours have changed!
I've also made some cabochons with these colours by dipping them into the wet paint. I can turn these into fridge magnets, make more pendants or use them in my other projects. They would look great in a polymer clay collage! My mind is buzzing with ideas!
Here are some of my other pours from the past week. I may not keep all of them - if I'm not in love with a piece, I ruthlessly resuse the canvas in hopes of a better pour or turn them into a mixed media project.
I've been looking into using alternative surfaces as the canvases are not that cheap and take up so much space. Here's a pour on a CD. This could be turned into a clock:
and some more glass cabochons - these are 1" squares:
Sometimes my best artwork is the one that stays in the cup. This one reminds me of a group of people standing in a circle:
Thanks for visiting! I'll be spooning around your desks soon!
Happy WOYWW! xx
Morning Zsuzsa. What can I say but - WOW! They are amazing. How big are the canvases? What will you do with them? Do I see Christmas presents lurking all over you bookcases drying? Or will you keep them all?
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Gosh I can see those people - is there any chance you can peel it from inside the cup and retain the figures? Imagine how cool that would look!
ReplyDeleteI can see how you have enjoyed doing these pourings, you have done so many and I love the fact that you are making jewellery from the left over pieces. You will have enough to run a jewellery business before long. I can just see you now at a craft fair somewhere with your stall - canvasses, clocks and jewellery. Brilliant!
Hugs, Neet 14 xx
Hi Zsuzsa, wow I'm just blown away by the pieces you've poured! I'd love to know how you are making the pouring medium- are you using any special mediums? This is something I definitely want to have a go at after Christmas stuff is sorted. Have you tried canvas boards? They do them in packs of I *think* half a dozen in The Works, for a couple od quid.Theres also an online art site that regularly has really good sales on canvases of various sizes, I'll see if I can find it and forward it to you. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #1 X
ReplyDeleteOh wow...what an amazing amount of wonderful pictures and other crafty goodies....you're really on a roll.

I see the people in the mug too! That's pleasing. Wow I love these pourings, they work so well. The cabochons are fantastic, they'd make brilliant fridge magnets....you could market the bluey ones are mini universes!

I love all of it, right down to the art in the cup, and I love how your brain is just fizzing with ideas too! It is clearly extremely addictive - not sure there are many things that couldn't be improved by a bit of strategic pouring/dipping!

I love your pours!! Such beautiful colours. I too stay up half the night but I feel guilty. Don't seem to need that much sleep these days. You have also reminded me that I bought some nice CD display boxes to 'gift' poured Cd's/clocks in. Sadly I haven't yet got around to doing any!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #18 xx
ReplyDeleteOh wow, wow, wow, Zsuzsa!!! Your pours are absolutely FANTASTIC! I am completely blown away. I haven't been around for a couple of weeks and had no idea you were doing this. I've seen loads of Youtube videos of it and have felt tempted but then not done it because it looked such a messy process. The results are simply amazing. And you've done so many! Lots of brilliant ideas for different surfaces, too. You are incredibly creative...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment! I am definitely intending to get some photos taken of me wearing the outfit. I need to get my skates on now and get it finished in time - too busy all last week even to look at it. You and I have a lot in common - like you I had little interest in history at school (a very boring history teacher who was more interested in discipline than in inspiring her pupils) and my interest in history only grew in adulthood. I love it now. I find the Tudor period particularly interesting, and I love listening to David Starkey on the subject. He has a gift of comparing events then (his specialist area) and current events. He has a razor-sharp brain. This does make him rather arrogant and intolerant but I can overlook that because of his brilliance and how much I learn from him! He's on Youtube quite a bit. I haven't come across Philippa Gregory, and maybe I should look out for her! Yes, our kitties do get plumper and more fluffy in the winter. We always say Lily wears Dutch trousers - you know, those ones that are baggy round the thighs and tight at the bottom! She loses them in the summer. They love to keep each other warm and there's something really special about having 2, especially siblings, who have always been together, even in the womb. They are very close and love each other. I'm glad you allow Oreo a bed in the airing cupboard to keep him nice and snug! Thanks for the good wishes re my health stuff - I seem to be waiting on various things at the moment. The cooking continues to be fun and I need to have another blitz because the supply of ready meals I've made is getting depleted in the freezer. I try and cook more than we need each time, so I can freeze it for when I can't cook for any reason. Out for lunch tomorrow with a friend.
Happy WOYWW, and keep pouring - you are so brilliant at it!!

I love your new pours! I hope you are going to display them proudly once they are fully dry. They'd make fabulous gifts, if not! Have a creative week Helen #2
ReplyDeleteThis is the first thing I intend doing when I get into the new cabin. I've got all the stuff just not enough space but that will soon change hopefully. These pieces are gorgeous you clever lady. Wishing you a happy woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed by your zest for pouring, each piece is a little pop of inspiration. The pieces with the open cells are extra amazing, just think of how many you will get done when the weather warms up, you'll have them dry working on the next in no time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all things amazing Hugs Tracey xx
Delicious - I love the effects that you are creating but also the delight that shines through with the actual process of making. I have seen Kasia's offering Advent Calendar again this year - signed up and linked on my blog to your project from last year cos was so inspired. I hope I can manage in some shape or form this year. Are you going to have another go?
ReplyDeleteWow they are fantastic the canvas reminds me of the papers I did with shaving foam and coloured inks. You have given me an idea with the CD as I often use them for my cards. Have another creative week. Ani#6
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see that you have so much fun with pourings! I specially your works from last week, hope you will keep those you show here! The one with so many colours from black to red is just brilliant!
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late and thank you for your comment. These pours are simply gorgeous! I especially love the blues. Stunning. Happy belated WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#10)
ReplyDeleteSorry I’m so late! Like all your other commenters, I love your enthusiasm and the results of the pours, my word they are mesmerising. I just know that they are the basis for some more great stuff from you! Now...catch up on some sleep, this is a crazy busy season!!
