WOYWW #562: Not quite back yet

Another short check-in from me just to let you know I'm still around. I seem to have fallen off the proverbial bandwagon and haven't been very busy in my craft room. As you can see, my desk has been taken over by Oreo cat - in fact, the whole room has been taken over by him as I often find him in there either staring out the window or sleeping on my chair. He thinks it's his domain now.

Instead of spending my spare time creating, I've reading a lot and also got hooked on Lost, the TV series. It's quite addictive - I've still got two seasons to whiz through. I'll be back at one point, no doubt, but I'm not sure when.

I have found an old project I can share though - you've probably seen it sitting on my shelves but I've never shown close-ups of it before. It's a little tag book with pockets that I created a while ago from a single 12X12" sheet of paper. I admit, I can't quite remember how I made it though!

So that's just for a quick fix. A couple of photos left to share. I caught this little guy sitting on the fence the other day. I keep forgetting to get some peanuts for him. Or could be her, who knows?

My dad sent me this photo for my birthday last week. I must have been around 6 when it was taken. That orange monkey was my favourite toy for many, many years growing up.

So that's it, just to let you know that I haven't fallen off the edge of the Earth. Hope everyone else is OK - will catch up soon! xx

  1. Hi Zsuzsa, lovely tag book! Laughing at how Oreo is lay on the table, king of all he surveys! We get a lot of squirrels in our garden too, and they love Sunflower hearts as well as peanuts. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X

  2. Hi Zsuzsa, welcome back! It's good to have a break once in a while and do something different. I don't read enough these days but I do listen to audio books. I love the little tag book. As for Oreo, he may have taken over the room but I don't see any sign of him producing any art in there. They do have their favourite places, don't they, and then suddenly change to another one without any good reason that we can see! The photo of you when you were little is great. It's always fun to see what people looked like when they were children - funny that I should have done the same with the kitties on my post this week lol! It's easy to forget that they were once as small as that. I said to my hubby the other day that I need to watch some of the kitten videos again.

Thank you for your visit. Unfortunately my room isn't as organised as I would like. Has anybody ever found the perfect way of storing things?

Our old kitty Beatrice had a sister (Bella who got killed on the road outside our house before she was even 2 years old and I broke my heart over that). When she was a kitten, I used to carry her around in the pocket of my apron, like a little roo in a kangaroo pouch lol! Her head used to stick out and she would stay like that for ages. When my hubby put Ruby down on the floor in the blankets, he said, "She's not spoilt, is she?" Haha!! Whaaaat? Never!

I also cut some bedding down from double to single, and I've used some of the sheet but still have the offcuts of duvet cover somewhere. Making some pillowcases is a very good idea, especially as the ones I am using are getting pretty worn out. I'm glad you like the scarves and scrunchies! I'll have to think of a way of using up the other scraps. I'm glad you like the Celtic knots. I like colouring so it wasn't any hardship. I'm not so happy with Batch 2 but will work on some new ones soon and we'll see how that goes.

    Happy WOYWW,

  4. Hi Zsuzsa, I've been missing in action for quite a few months too. Life just took me in a completely different direction, but I come back as much as I can, and when I do have a reason to craft, as now, then I will be in my craft room more and will blog. I never watched Lost - I'm not much of a TV fan, unless something is recommended to me. Nice to catch up with you. Have a lovely week Heather xx #21

  5. Hi Zsuzsa. Hope you get your craft room back soon - and have the inspiration to make more lovely things. I foresee Oreo being shoved out into the fresh air before long! What a lovely little book.
    Thanks for visiting.
    Take care. God bless.

  7. Lovely to see you Zsuzsa, I have somehow got into the routine of desking every couple of weeks so often miss people that way. I love your little book, and that's such a sweet photo of you as a child. It's also lovely to see Oreo again, he doesn't look like he'll willingly give the desk up to you!
Hope you have a good week,

  11. I thought I had commented on here but I remember I went to see if I could find the instructions for that concertina tag book but can't. Must have got distracted after that. Sorry, cannot find them but if I do I will let you have them. Love how you have done yours and I would say the cover is a typical Zsuzsu one.
Oreo certainly looks like he is surveying his kingdom - one very comfortable cat.
Love the photo of you as a little girl and the one of the squirrel. We have a family living in our garden, only trouble is they steal the bird food all the time so much so that we now don't have the bird table up.
    Hugs, Neet 6 xx

  12. Lovely to see you, Zsuzsa, and the photo of you with the monkey is awesome. Your concertina book is terrific, and I look forward to seeing more work from you when Lost is done. :D Happy weekend, my friend.

  13. Aaahhhh, you look so sweet as a 6 year old, but I'm sure you still do! Happy, belated, birthday! I, too, have times that I spend less time creating - and the feel to create always comes back, it will sure work the same for you. In the meantime, enjoy reading and watching series (my beloved and I are still hooked on Scandinavian crime series, we hire them from the local library and by now we saw it ALL, it gets difficult to find series we haven't seen!) Hope you are doing well, stay save dear, big (virtual, we are not allowed to shake hands anymore in the Netherlands) hug! Marit #7
