This is intended to be another quickie - though you know what they say about the best laid plans and all but we'll see (and I'm already babbling)! First things first, I've finally got myself an iPhone - for the sole reason to get the full functions of Instagram. I know, my son thinks it's wasted on me - I don't even use it as a phone and still carry my old one around for that purpose. I've looked at alternatives, but it seems Instagram is optimised for the iOS and I was getting frustrated not having certain features. I've been playing with slo-mo and time-lapse - so much fun!
These photos were taken on my new phone as well - I had to figure out a way to transfer them - I think it will probably be easier to stick with my trusted little camera for my blog as it requires a different format altogether.
I did the #colorwithLaly challenge. I must say I struggled a little bit by not being able to produce the results I imagined. I did a similar lesson with Laly last year, so I got those cards out for inspiration. Here's a closer look at my new ones:
Then I spent a few days procrastinating until the inspiration hit me again on Monday night at 11pm to make these tags:
So there you have it - sweet and short?
Hope everyone's fine - I'll visit soon to find out!
Happy #647! xx
Loving the latest projects Zsuzsa. I must admit to not bothering with Insta much although I have an account. I haven't a clue about Apple products so an iPhone would be wasted on me. Meow to Oreo. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteOh the tags are beautiful and I love both old and new. I just love her work, she's such a unique talent but you've captured her vibe so well. I love the addition of the little numbers. So often a tiny detail like that can just make the work sing. Fab.

Love the Butterfly Tags Zsuza, they really zap! The circles and the numbers just add to the mystery! I hope that's not black coffee you've put your brush in! Stay Safe, keep crafting, Happy WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#20
ReplyDeleteWe are our own worst critics - your cards are gorgeous, both this year’s and last, using the Laly ideas. You have a distinctive style, I could pick out your work from a lineup! I’ve never used Instagram only to comment on a couple of blogs but I do use my iPhone all the time, it’s a handy bit of kit, I’m sure you’ll discover its usefulness!

Hi Zsuzsa, I love your cards and especially your butterfly tags.
ReplyDeleteI have an account for I sta so I can follow others but don’t use it much. I find it easiest to write my blog on my iPhone as I can upload photos directly using the “upload from computer” button on blogger.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Love your latest projects. I email myself my blog photographs. I always email the largest size, import them into PSE and go from there. You could use the Paint programme to crop the size.

Well if your son thinks you are a dinosaur as far as iPhones are concerned not a clue what he would think of me with ine. Had it for a few years now but not a clue what you are talking about with slo-mo and time lapse! But I can and do use it for photos for my blog.
ReplyDeleteI have it mainly because of it linking with my laptop (Mac) and my iPad and must confess it was bought because of the spreadsheet which I use for my crafting records to stop me buying two of the same at shows. Of course now I don't go to shows because of Covid so it is a bit defunct these days. I still keep it updated - you never know.
Loving the tags you made with the Laly workshop cards and looking forward to more of your lovely creations.
I will confess, I have an Instagram account, used to upload things but it is so long since I did anything I have forgotten how to use it so it lies dormant. Woe is me.
Hugs, Neet 7 xx
I'm impressed at you doing this on your phone, I've tried but it is so much easier on a computer and I'm lazy and lose interest. I'm okay with photos and sending them to my laptop and that's it. Any way back to the important stuff, gorgeous projects. I don't know what you mean Lol! Not producing the results you imagined....don't think I ever do manage that but that's life Lol! I love the cards and the tags all gorgeous. I also understand the 11pm sudden flash of inspiration! Then I creep up to bed at about 1.00 am trying not to make any noise! Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteWoW some great backgrounds. Love the colors. I do check in on Instagram to view/comment not yet to share anything I prefer FB groups or blogs I guess, more detail. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteI love your cards, they are beautiful but I well know the problem of not producing what the mind is imagining! The tags are gorgeous too. I don't really do Instagram, I've looked at it and am following a couple of people who gave up their blogs purely to keep in touch with what they do, but generally I find it much more impersonal. I didn't know you could get more from it if you use your phone -perhaps that's why I don't get on with it very well.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good week,

I've never got into Insta but don't have a i-phone, I'm an android girl! I think I did set up an Insta account, but never used it! I think your latest projects are fantastic! Love the colours. Thanks for your visit. Helen #3
ReplyDeleteGorgeous projects this week, Zsuzsa - I adore your colour schemes, particularly on the tags. I have a reconditioned old model iPhone. It's easy to transfer photos to the laptop. You need a cable with a lightning plug on one end for the phone and a standard USB on the other end for the computer. When connected, the phone will ask whether to "allow this device to access photos and videos." Click "Allow." Go to the file manager on the laptop and find "my computer" where iPhone will be listed. R-click on it and select "Import pictures and videos." You can transfer the lot, or review and organise or import new ones. I always select "review and organise." You can set it up to transfer them where you want - I have a folder on my desktop where I dump them till I can edit them and save them elsewhere, keeping the raw footage separate from edited. Once edited, I delete the originals. Hope this is a little clearer than mud and is helpful!
ReplyDeleteI'm hopeless with phones and struggle to manage that side of things - I speak on WhatsApp regularly to my friend in Brazil but apart from that I only phone my hubby on it to tell him I'm ready to be picked up from the hospital!! I hate texting and am useless at it - takes far too long! I much prefer emails. My iPhone is smaller than the modern ones so it's a bit of a fiddle to use, and I don't use the Internet on it, preferring the iPad or my laptop.
BTW, kids always think their parents are dinosaurs. They think you're ancient when you're 30 and "old and wrinkly" at 65 (my sister's description of Dad lol!!). Trouble is, kids always think they know everything when actually they know very little of importance! (Thus speaks Shoshi the fount of wisdom on parenthood, having had no kids at all!)
Thank you for your visit. I'm glad you like the patchwork cards. I've got ideas for developing that, especially now I've got all my new stash arriving. I've been too busy in the kitchen today to get in the studio and the same will probably hold true for tomorrow but I can't wait to start playing. I love your idea of being a puppy trainer! I can just imagine the chaos your guide dog would lead his owner into after being trained in such a way haha! Fortunately Lily and Ruby are totally indifferent to the other Lily and show no signs of jealousy. The other Lily is a stunner, isn't she.
Thanks so much for the good wishes re our health. Hoping for the best for my hubby - he's been so much better recently that I'd be surprised if anything turned up but it's worth checking. As for me, I can't believe how quickly I've been discharged from oncology compared with the last time. I only found the lump in May and it's all dealt with now, apart from the ongoing medication and occasional appointments at the Breast Unit. My colon cancer had me trotting over to the hospital for a year, and then several major surgeries afterwards because of stoma problems, and that's still not resolved - not a peep from the Exeter hospital and in view of the chaos going on in the world at the moment I can't see it ever happening now. I've resigned myself to living with the problem.
Happy WOYWW,

Hi Zsuzsa, so lovely to see your visit yesterday sadly busy weekdays make it impossible for me to participate @ WoywW right now I just can not get round to visit everyone. What a ray of inspiration you share today, loved that Laly course like the one previously it can be had when creating something abstract to not try and see or relate to something withing it. I do love green but purple is a difficult one for me. All stunning and unique and your tags are absolutely fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will soon find all the answers with your i-phone, you did a better job than I ever could.
Take care my friend & i'll try keep a watch out for you if I get online time on Wednesdays Hugs TRacey xx
Love your Laly pieces and then the tags.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!
Stay safe and keep well!

Calling All Crafters! – My Blog!
I'm liking your colour play, Zsuzsa, even if it wasn't what you were after. And those tags? Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmy to the max!! Happy week, my friend - stay safe!
ReplyDeleteHa! Your son would think most of us were dinosaurs if he could meet us all at once! a I didn’t even know there were ‘functions’ within Instagram! I must say if you get brave, you won’t regret the iPhone, bunt I guess in their different ways, they can all do a ridiculous amount of stuff for us. I wonder why the colour class caused you a pause, the sheets you’ve mad a fab..perhaps the colours weren’t suiting your mood? as lovely as it is, the green is not a colour I associate with you! Tags are lovely, moment of inspiration not so much, I m not sure how you gals that craft into the night manage the next day I’m sure!
ReplyDeleteWodnerful butterfly tags, Zsuzsa! I also "resisted" buying a smartphone as long as possible (until last year). It was not Instagram that obliged me, but my bank telling me that without their app, I would not be able any longer to perform some operations! Capturing a scene with a phone is practical, but the pictures have not the same quality as pictures you take with a good camera... Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely pieces. I must try doing another wee 'series' of something. It's a great way to get new ideas going and the small format lets you play well. Maybe I need to create another set of cards. Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteLove your green and purple abstracts. I did the same class last year using red and I liked how they turned out, for a colour that I tend to avoid lol. Lovely tags too. Happy belated WOYWW! October was a busy month, still catching up. Elle #6 this week
