WOYWW #587: Mini Journal Part Two

What's up peeps! Happy Wednesday! I clean forgot to take a shot of my work desk for WOYWW but I have a video of my finished mini journal instead, which kind of shows my desk in the background. It's so easy to work on a small scale, especially if you follow the same process for each page. My process involved some inky backgrounds I created a white ago for collage and I simply added some postage stamps, washi tapes, book text, gesso to distress and that was pretty much it.

That's it art-wise, but I have some more photos to share. See if you can guess where we went last weekend from these photos below. Hint 1: it's a small touristy place in Worcestershire. Hint 2: it has the same name as a famous street in New York with all the theatres. (I probably gave too much away LOL!)

It's a photo heavy post today - I have a few more to share. Meet Walter and Mabel, our resident pigeons. They've been here ever since we moved in three years ago - or so we think it's the same couple - always together. You can't see in this photo but it was raining heavily and they were just sitting on the fence for ages! I wanted to invite them in to dry off! The lawn is dug up because we're getting electricity out to the summer house which is yet to be built just in time for the winter LOL but I'm planning to put fairy lights on it which will look pretty in the dark.

And just one last photo: we had a bumper crop of apples this year. They seem to be bigger and healthier than in past years. This is my next lot for a crumble:

Happy WOYWW! Thanks for your visit! I'm not sure how much time I'll have today, but I'll visit everyone who leaves a comment over the course of the week! xx

  2. I knew it was Broadway from the second pic as we've been there a few times! It's a very pretty little town isn't it? Lovely to get out and do some normal things eh? We've been trying to get and about a little bit more as well. The pigeons really do look like a Walter and Mabel, lolol!!!

  3. I'm late visiting today because I've had lots of customers all needing their sewing doing quickly so I had to get that done before I joined in the fun today.
I really love your mini book....you are so talented.

  4. Hi Zsuzsa, Love the mini journal, it's fab. Gorgeous photos, I'm going to take a stab at Broadway? Another lovely village to visit is Bourton on the Water- it has the added bonus of Birdland, all sorts of birds, and the only King Penguin colony in the UK. There's a maze too next to it, and a river running through the town. Lovely day out. Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #14. X

  5. Hi Zsuzsa. Seems others have got the answer first - I knew it wasn't Bourton on the water - not enough visitors, knew it was the Cotswolds cos of the colour of the stone... but didn't know it was Broadway! Gorgeous - a great day out. Lovely apples and a cute pair of pigeons - I have a family of them in my garden. Well done on the little book.
    Take care. God bless.

  6. The Deco Art product - I have had it a long time and I got it in a Sale so it was probably old then but it still works - and is quite juicy and not at all dried up. I think it is for making your own paper really. It says to put it on a hard surface and later talks about putting it on polythene to make your own paper.
Gosh, that is one heck of a long garden. I thought ours was huge but this is much bigger. How exciting - is this going to be a new craftroom?
I have not a clue about the place you visited but it looks lovely and one of the clues would suggest Broadway? Not that I know whether there is a place with that name or not.
Now finally to your book. That is amazing! I would not have realised how tiny it is without seeing the video. Was wondering how you bound the pages together, it is a lovely job you made of it. Love your work.

  7. What a lovely place to visit. I'm guessing from what the others have said that it's Broadway but never heard of it before. The little art journal is brilliant and a great way to use the stamps too. You asked about the sink. It has a container at the bottom that you fill with water and a pump action that pulls the water into the sink and a waste pipe that leads the used water into the bottle at the side so it doesn't need any services attached. They are designed for outdoor shows and the like. It's on wheels so that I can use it outside when I'm making a good mess which will probably be quite often! Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x10x

  8. What a lot of absolutely gorgeous photos, Zsuzsa! I'm never averse to a photo-rich blog - the more the better! I love your video of the little album too, with such lovely music to accompany it. It's a real little treasure. The pigeons are fun. Apparently they mate for life so I am sure they are the same ones!

Thank you for your visit. I think I'm going to have to resign myself to having lost my ring for good now, because it's been 5 days and still no sign of it... I am so sad about it, and so cross with myself for being so careless. I am very thrilled to have so much tangible evidence of my ancestors and I love the 2 lockets particularly. I've got a lot of photos. Mum was very good at keeping things and writing on the back so we'd know who was who. She did her family tree many years ago and once I went on an ancestor hunt around the churchyards of the Cotswolds and we also found several of the beautiful houses they'd lived in.

You are right - we share our lives with two little silver tigers! They are so stripy and have spotty tummies too. I think they must be the most photographed kitties in the world as I'm always finding them irresistible and clicking away!

I'm glad you finally decided on the right settee for you! It can be a difficult decision. I'd never have thought of charcoal grey until my hubby said he liked the one in the shop, and the more I looked at it, the more I agreed. It's a fantastic background colour for bright cushions and throws. I'm really looking forward to it arriving now, and just hope the kitties don't tear it to shreds, the little monsters. So glad you like my red blouse. I've got a drawer full of socks in all different colours so I can always match with what I'm wearing. They are Corrimoor socks, from a local herd of angora goats which produce mohair. They are the most comfortable, hard wearing and colourful socks I've ever known - warm in winter and cool in summer (I have to wear socks all the time because my feet are so sensitive after my chemo). I have several pairs of knee length ones too, for the winter. I love my bright colours!!

Looking forward to seeing Oreo again soon - I always miss him when he doesn't put in an appearance, the handsome chappy. Give him a cuddle from me.

    Happy WOYWW,

  13. Hello hello, I know where you were - I stayed there last year in a cottage with mum and my sister, it was near to the 'Tower' and very pleasant. Mum walked all the way up and down with her stroller and we had fish and chips on the green lol. Not sure why we didn't sit in the restaurant. Oh and afternoon tea in a little cafe another day.Sadly we didn't get away this year. I love your little book - but then all things tiny fascinate me!!

  14. Hi Zsuzsa, sorry I'm late - your mini journal is totally gorgeous, I love all the texture and the colours you've used and it's fun to watch you flick through it. I've never heard of Broadway, but it looks really beautiful, maybe we can visit there one day. MY DH hates pigeons, we have loads of them and they like to poop in the bird bath and gobble up all the bread he puts out, but I love to watch them and find them very entertaining. I've noticed they sometimes like to sit in the rain whilst stretching out one wing at a time, I guess maybe to cool off or get rid of insects or something, they look so bedraggled but seem to like it :) HAve a great week. 15. Hi Zsuzsa, I definitely love your mini journal. Thanks you also for those wonderful pictures. I wish I could be there just now, looking at the deer and walking in this small village. Nice that you have the same couple of pigeons for years! Have a nice week end!

  16. Especially loved the flip through so we can really see how little that journal is. Will it fit on your little shelves? Enjoy those delicious apples and happy weekend xo

  17. Lovely flip through that fab album, I admire your mini makes very much. That’s a very neat trench for the electricity, my word! It will be nice to have a summerhouse with fairy lights, you have such a lovely big green garden! I’m assuming a Broadway, but have not heard of it, but what a fabulously pretty place it is.
