WOYWW #552: Finished Advent Journal 2019

Well, Happy New Year! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's Eve. I was up bright and early today - that is if you can call 8:30 bright and early. I spent the last two weeks playing catch up with Kasia's advent calendar prompts and finished my journal a week late but still before we entered the new decade with just a few hours to spare. Here's the state of my desk - this photo was taken yesterday afternoon but it looks exactly the same this morning. Yes, I know it's messy, even for me! My next project will be a major clean up operation.

Below are the pages I completed since my last post. Just scroll through them, or watch the slide show at the end. I had a bit of a journal-catastrophe on my hands when I decided to expand the spine by cutting off the back cover without thinking it through properly. Now what? Bookbinding tape to the rescue, I managed to bodge it together in the end.

Wishing everyone all the best for 2020! xx

  6. Happy New year Zsuzsa. I'm very jealous of your gorgeous journal. I have all the prompts but life has just got in the way recently, I've hardly done any crafting at all which you can probably tell by my tidy desk unlike your very busy one. Sending hugs, Angela xXx

  9. Lovely pages and what a gorgeous cover. Just the colour I like, so glad you managed to save it - surprising what we crafters can do when we need to.
Hope you don't mind me saying but I think you get the award for the messiest desk this week, if not this year LOL. The sign of a good crafter so be proud of it.
Happy New Year to you and the family, and not forgetting the little man himself, Oreo.
Thanks for your friendship over the years.
    Hugs, Neet xxx

  11. Thanks for your visit, Zsuzsa. So glad you like the card I made for my friend. I sent her an e-card for today, and phoned her this p.m. and said the "real" one should arrive tomorrow. She's a keen bee keeper so I always try to make her a bee-themed card. I agree about cutting machines - it's often easier to grab a die and a Cuttlebug but I love the infinite customising you can do with the machine and I do feel a bit guilty about how little I've used it. I really plan to change that this year, and the new software will certainly help. Hope Oreo enjoyed his Christmas. This was the first year any kitties of ours didn't get the chance to enjoy turkey giblets... I'm not 100% vegan (still have milk to make my yoghurt and kefir) and I don't observe strict vegan rules with stuff other than food (e.g. not wearing leather shoes etc.). In the early days it was harder to plan, but I'm not really a planner and can't cope with the amazing meal prep that so many people online do. Now I've been doing this for a good few months, I usually just decide what 3 or 4 different dishes I want to make this week, and look at the recipes and order accordingly and Tesco delivers it. I do have a lot of recipes from the Internet and am always adding to them as I discover new ones, but most of the time I cook what we've had before and what's getting low in the freezer! I've been doing it long enough to know the essential basic ingredients (jackfruit isn't one of them!) and order in bulk when things are getting low - chickpeas, nuts, beans, rice etc. etc. It's not so difficult once you get into a routine.

Hope you have a great year with lots of creativity and inspiration! Always a joy to see what you come up with! Your work is amazing these days.

  13. You messy girl hee hee.. i'm sure it's all clean and tidy now. Sorry i'm late i'd planned to visit all after the new years eve clean up then visitors arrived to see the new puppy..
Glad you managed to finish the advent challenge, with anything like this I always use a fold style journal as it's easier to add and take away. Clever you were able to adjust the spine and even cleverer that you created a video so we could see it all from start to finish. Even if I had time i'm no good at working that sort of stuff out.
It's a beautiful work of art Zsuzsa from start to finish and you managed to keep to your basic colour choice.. so lovely. I especially love the loose ends tied in a heart, very symbolic.
Wishing you a wonderful New Year, happy, healthy and full of creativity.
Sending Big Hugs your way Tracey xx

  14. Tried to watch video but my browser or ISP weren’t playing ball so just looked at pickies instead, lovely pages the dragonfly is my fav., Zsusza.
Funny how we do things and as it is going we suddenly realise oops that wasn’t smart. It’s the A leads to B and B leads to C issue! Glad tape rescued you.
Happy very belated WOYWW. Thanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too, especially good health in 2020.
    Hugs, Shaz in Oz.x #2 kinda! 😊
