WOYWW #550: Advent Journal 2019 - Part 3

I wasn't sure if I would be able to link up today for WOYWW but then I thought I'd better because I won't have a chance to say merry Christmas to everyone before next week. So here I am. A quick shot of my desk this morning - literally taken a few minutes ago:

After boasting last week about my ability to do daily journalling, I fell behind with the Advent prompts - serves me right! I'm three days behind - four including today. No worries - it happened last year as well - I will catch up! I can show you the pages I made for day 11 through 14. Day 11 was about about smells and it has real cinnamon on the page - it smells lovely! How about that for a 4D experience?

This is as far as I got - more than half-way through with the prompts. Here's a shot of my journal at this stage, filling up nicely:

I've also received a cute little Christmas card from Shaz Silverwolf - somehow, quite undeservedly -  I got onto her Christmas list! Thanks so much, Shaz - it was a lovely surprise! I managed to take a photo of it showing the sparkle in the snowman.

Oreo had his annual jab on Saturday. I had to wake him up from a deep sleep, put him in his carrier and take him all the way to the vets - how cruel! We used to have a mobile vet, which was a lot less traumatic for him, but I couldn't find one around here. When we got back he went straight back to sleep. I bet when he woke up he thought 'what a terrible nightmare I had!' Here he is curled up on the settee, newly vaccinated. I hope we won't have to see a vet for another 12 months!

I'm not sure I'll be able to link up next week, so I'd like to wish a very Merry Christmas to everyone!
Enjoy your festivities! xx

  1. Hi Zsuzsa. My word, there's some work been going on there at your desk. Well done on keeping up until the past three days - there's always after Christmas to finish it!
Take care. God bless. Have a truly beautiful Christmas.

  2. Hi ya Zsuzsa, it's a magnificent achievement even thinking of playing along in and advent challenge let alone actually doing it so don't be so hard on yourself you've made beautiful art. I'm having to do mine during cooking tea etc, some i'm happy with others not but i'll keep plodding.. I love the smell of the scents one too, just need to find time to photograph & blog them now and of course do todays during dinner :D
Poor Oreo, may he be fit and well all year through. Freya had her first injections and microchip all on the same day... you would not think something so little could make such a sound. She hated us for all of 30 seconds though haa haa!!
Wishing you and yours a fabulous Christmas & the Happiest of New Years.

  4. Wow, the journal pages are looking fabulous - I love the idea of the scent of cinnamon as you open the page - what a great idea.
I hope Oreo is fully recovered from his jab and is not too cross with you for taking him! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy 2020,

  8. Your journal is out of this world, Zsuzsa - I love the idea of the real cinnamon on the "smelly" page lol! That is a gorgeous page with so much depth to it. I also love the blue page - "Everything's fine" - with that gorgeous gold bit and all the texture. Oreo, bless him! I love his little black pads and his single white eyebrow showing - heart-melting! Hope he got over his vet's appointment OK. Our kitties have a mixture of grey and pink pads, some plain, some pink with grey spots! To match their variegated coats. They had a major tiff this morning with extremely unladylike bad language, fur flying and tearing around the house at high speed. Every now and then Ruby beats up her sister big time - we think it's because occasionally she gets fed up with being No. 2 cat and tries to get the upper paw once in a while. They go to the vet yearly too, for their jabs and a general MOT and last time the vet said Ruby was fat!!

Thank you for your lovely comment - so glad you like the completed Tudor gown! If you pop back, I have just updated the photos with better ones that a friend took this afternoon, complete with the jewellery I wore. It looks more complete with all the trimmings. I was very pleased with the result and also very relieved to have got it completed in the nick of time. We had such a great time, and a lovely day altogether, and Jacki's shawl is indeed absolutely gorgeous - I was completely bowled over when she gave it to me! My hubby said it was very "me" as well, as he's always saying about my slippers! I had to put them on it on the bed to photograph it because they go so well together!

I hope you all have a very happy Christmas and New Year. Don't forget to give Oreo the turkey giblets! I am cooking a special vegan dinner this year which looks very tasty and intriguing, so our kitties will miss out this time. I'll probably post it as a recipe of the week in the new year if I remember.

Off to do a bit more drawing before bed.

    Happy WOYWW,

  9. Oreo doesn't look too traumatised thank goodness. Hopefully he will indeed pass off the experience as a bad dream. I have done little but save all the advent prompts so you are still well ahead of me on the daily journaling front Zsuzsa. I particularly like the Cinnamon page! Merry Christmas and Happy WOYWW. 10. At first I thought poor Oreo being woken like that - but it doesn't seem to have bothered him. Never heard of a mobile vet but the one we used to have would come out - mind you it cost you to have a call out!
Your pages are beautiful, a real credit to you. I love how you have used the cinnamon, novel! I need to get some, thought I had more than I have but my poor Christmas decoration with the orange slices has not been made for lack of cinnamon.
Will miss your posting next week so may I wish you and yours a lovely Christmas and all the very best for the coming year.
    Hugs, Neet 11 xx

  11. Hi Zsuzsa Sorry I am late visiting. I'm doing flying visits round desks, as I've been AWOL for so long and wanted to catch up and wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I love the fab journal pages. I definitely wouldn't be able to keep up with that! Poor Oreo, I hope he doesn't have any after effects from his jab! Have a lovely week Heather xx #31

  12. Hi Zsuzsa - a very belated return visit to wish you a very happy Christmas and a Creative New Year! The journal just gets better and better - I particulalrly like the 'positive noises' page - the 'music of the spheres' perhaps? Love the idea that it now smells of cinnamon too!
