WOYWW #556: My (relatively) tidy craft room

I thought I'd better check in today after 4 weeks of absence so you wouldn't think that I've completely disappeared. I'm taking an unplanned breather from crafting and blogging. No particular reason - we all need a break from time to time even from things that we enjoy - and I know from experience that I always come back with a vengeance with fresh creative ideas.

Although I haven't got anything creative to show you today, I can boast about my tidy craft room. It took me a couple of weeks to declutter. Not because it was such a big job,  but because I kept putting it off.  There comes a point when you feel so suffocated by all that stuff around you that it starts weighing you down. I ruthlessly got rid of a lot of scraps (cardboard, die-cuts, magazine cut-outs, bits of rubbish, etc|) that I was holding onto for future projects. I will admit though, that on second thought I retrieved some of them from the recycling box after throwing them out LOL!

Now that my room is (relatively) tidy, I feel refreshed and so much lighter! Here are some photos of my entire craft room shown from all angles. I go in there every day to admire it but I still feel reluctant to mess it up again, though I came close to it a couple of times in the past two weeks. I even got my paints out at one point to do some pouring but never got around to it. I'll get there, don't worry!  So for now, just enjoy the view - it won't look like this for long:

Happy WOYWW! I'll visit soon to find out what everyone's been up to in the past few weeks! xx

    1. Hi Shaz, did you spot the HobbyCraft cart that you recommended under my desk? It's great!

  4. Your room is fabulous my room is tiny - or is it I have too much stuff in it :). I am starting to part with old stuff, but one hand is holding on as the other is trying to put in the charity bag! Angela #8

  5. Well, it is nice to see your craft room looking so pristine but i do miss the Zsuzsa painty things around. The boxes or canvasses, anything. Hope you get around to crafting sooner than later. I think my mojo has gone on an extended vacation of late - all I seem to do is my journal page for my Thursday post and now my Moleskin. So much easier to do sitting in my chair in the lounge than trying to make a card there.
Take care and enjoy your week
    Hugs, Neet xx 5

  6. Welcome back, Zsuzsa, and my goodness what a tidy room! My desk was particularly tidy this week as well! Now you are ready to get going again. I know the feeling of lightness once you've tidied up. I need to have a major decluttering session in my studio. Thank you for your visit and it was sweet hearing about Oreo's daily peregrinations! They are very much creatures of habit, aren't they. Ours change their favourite places fairly regularly, and I'm hoping my end of the settee isn't going to be the favourite for the next few weeks! You really can't move them when they are cuddled up like that. I think the product trial will be interesting and hopefully I'll make the Birmingham meeting but it will be a very long day for me with all that travelling...

    Happy WOYWW,

  7. You’ve got it all under control gal. A break is a holiday and when you’re ready, the inspiration will fill you and be wonderful all over again. I think everything has to have a dormant time really. And the beauty of this is that you left it tidy....talk about a welcome every time you look at it!

  9. Hee! Hee! throw it away and retrieve it now that sounds sounds so familiar. We're as bad as the children I used to teach, they often decided their projects weren't going to plan and guess what.... I used to go through the bins at night and retrieve them and now I'm just as bad. I think having a rest and a tidy round is good for the soul which is why I am looking forward to moving into the cabin, hopefully not too long now. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x15x

  11. Hi Zsuzsa, you say your taking a break but look at what your achieved, making space for creativity is just as productive as getting hands on. I always say there doesn't have to be an end project to be creative. It does the mind good to switch off and focus on other things around us. Like a spring clean you'll feel very refreshed when it's your time to dip your toes in again. It's working already if your enjoying the de-cluttering.
You'll be twice as awesome and unstoppable when you get back in there but for now just enjoy your time out.. guilt free!! I'll be waiting and eager to see everything lovely when its shown.
Take good care of yourself, sending Hugs Tracey xx

  15. Hi Zsusza. Thanks for your kind words of encouragement. Your room is very lovely. I'm not surprised you go in every day to admire it! It makes me feel happy even in photo form, especially the rainbow drawers. Looking forward to seeing what appears when you give in to the urge to mess it up again!

  16. Hi Zsuzsa, Nice to have you here again. What a lovely and tidy room! I am already looking forward to see your new creations. Wanting to have a break sometimes is absolutely normal. In my case, I do not blog when I have no new ideas or time for it, and I know that I will stop blogging the day I feel that I have nothing more to say.
