Just a quick status update from me this week. Thanks to everyone who gave me tips to help me sleep - I've been trying a few things with more or less success. I just want everything to go back to normal, is that too much to ask? I feel exhausted having slept very little in the last few weeks. Luckily, I still seem to be able to function during the day, but for how long? I've got my GP calling me this morning - I hope he can give me something to help me sort myself out. Fingers crossed.
I've still been creating, although less than before. It definitely helps take my mind off things and feel less anxious. A snapshot of my desk last night:
This is a new journal I started in an old book I had recently acquired in a charity shop for just 50p. Just the right size for my messy collages. Here's a previous spread in the same book:
My first page (10 layers) in my 100-day project journal:
And a challenge piece for #seekgathercreate that had to include certain elements:
There you have it, the last two weeks summed up in a nutshell!
Hope everyone's ok despite all this madness going on in the world.

Such a gorgeous journal - the pages are stunning. I do feel for you with the sleep issues and do hope your GP has some good guidance for you. I'll look forward to hearing what they say! I have been researching blue tint glasses (although I don't know if you spend the amount of time in front of a screen that I do!) as a possibly tool to help. The state of the world sure desn't...
ReplyDeleteWishing peace for WOYWW and every other day!

I hope that your Dr can help you as not getting enough sleep is never good. I love your new journal for your 100 day project. Looking good. Take care, stay safe. Helen #2
ReplyDeleteHope your doc can suggest something to help. While I’ve always been a light sleeper, the menopause totally mucked me up, it’s so common but never talked about! Your artwork is gorgeous as always, you have signature colours.

So sorry to hear you are still not sleeping. That must be horrible and increase with worrying about not being able to get to sleep. Hope the doc can give you something to help.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it has not affected your ability to make the most beautiful journal pages. Would be hard to choose a favourite for me as they are all so lovely. Do you realise the first two do not have a butterfly on them?
Take care, I don't like to think of you suffering like this.
Hugs, Neet 4 xx
Ugh, dear Zsu, I don’t know hope you’re functioning on so little sleep, and I wish you well with your GP call and his advice. I haven’t slept well since Mum died, it’s just memories and a ‘to do’ list swirling about in my head. I’m expecting that to subside given a little more time, perhaps it’s a related issue for you, the suddenness of losing your Mum. And perhaps if the doctor can help you to get some sleep, your mind will stop overworking from lack of sleep. It’s a real catch 22. Your journal pages are just lovely…I love how you take a book and don’t even consider the open book as two separate pages, and of course I so enjoy the touches that make them unmistakably your work.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get your sleep pattern sorted out soon, fingers crossed the Dr will be able to give you some advice. As always your work is beautiful, I love your pages so much and I hope you are getting some peace and comfort from your creating.
ReplyDeleteTake care,

ReplyDeleteLoving your new journal Zsuzsa. I am not surprised that your sleep patterns are poor, especially given all the madness in the world. Hope the GP can help. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteLove your pages. Wishing you peaceful nights of sleep x Angela #13
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are still having sleep problems, I hope your GP can help. Your journal pages are awesome, as usual, I love the blues you are using. Take care, sleep well, Lindart #23
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your GP can help you with your sleep problems. Two of my friends and I were discussing our sleep problems this morning. One got a Cpap machine and swears by it. She sleeps the whole night without moving versus me waking up every hour. The thing is though, I still feel rested. I wish I could help you. Hope it gets better. Great journal pages. Great find of the old book to work in. Thanks for the peek. Happy WOYWW. #25
ReplyDeleteGorgeous art. I must admit I'm a bit demotivated creatively with all the crazy in the world and our Covid outbreak in NZ. Feeling well myself at present so let's hope that lasts and my mojo comes back. Love to you - Spring is coming in your world xo
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love your texture to the max, and your ability to bring it all together is legendary!! May your sleeplessness be a thing of that past, starting yesterday! Sending hugs, Win
ReplyDeleteYour journal is gorgeous Zsuzsa. I do hope your GP can help; it’s rotten when you can’t sleep.
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a good week
