WOYWW #539: Still on a roll!

I've been very productive this past week, I'm happy to report. It is no doubt due to the inspiration of the Life Book Summit which has now been extended by one week until 7th October. I have lots to share today with fellow deskers on WOYWW, so let's get down to it!

First off, my desk. This photo was taken just a few minutes ago. Having tidied up my craft room over the weekend, my creative space now looks much more inviting! That's one of my altered books that I use as an art journal laid out on my desk. I worked on the page on the left last night and I'm not sure if it's finished yet. I might add something to it later on, but for now I'll leave it as it is.

I also added two oracle cards to my collection...

....and completed two projects inspired by Jenny Grant and Tiffany Goff Smith during the LifeBook Summit. They don't actually look much like the lessons, which is not a problem at all. I got a few ideas from the videos and I integrated them with  my own style.

I have a fun photo to share as well. This was taken up in Scotland on a pig farm, showing hubs with a now well-established beard in a rare state of laughter. Apparently, one of the piglets kept pushing him with their nose, which he thought was funny. They're doing a research project about the facial expressions of pigs and Netflix was there to film it (the guy on the right is a reporter from the US and the lady is one of the collaborators on the project). It will come out next year as part of a science series. I just thought I should shamelessly brag about it. He was so nervous about the filming, but from the sounds of it, it went quite well, so fingers crossed.

Hope you're having a creative week too! Happy Whizz Day!

  2. You never know what's going to turn up on a Wednesday blog and that last pic is one of the most unexpected!! What on earth is your hubby's background that he's involved in pig facial recognition research?! I do love the pic though, you have to scrapbook that one :-D. Love the journal pages and other art too - gorgeous!

  4. Hi Zsuzsa. Well, Jan has taken the words right out of my keyboard - so to speak!! I would never have thought that was an area of research! Great photos of lots of hard work this week.
I heartily recommend a caravan - space, or the illusion of space, is vitally important to me I have discovered over the years, and my dear van feels spacious. Mind you, I realise that having the old girl for 37 years gives me a wonderfully biased outlook
    Take care God bless.

  5. I'm smiling at that last photograph too... what ever is ticking hubbies fancy brings a good smile to his face hee hee! Well done on keeping up with the Lifebook summit, I am registered and also was gifted 2019 last Christmas but have done nothing with anything, it's been a bad year for creativity over the past 12 months. Hoping things will be more productive in 2020.
Fabulous pages, you are thriving from those instructional vids.
Always happy to come over and see what you've been up too, I need to come over more often. Sending WoywW hugs your way Tracey xx

  6. I really love the colours you've been working with this week....they are the colours I work in by choice. The last photo made me smile too. I guess all animals have facial expresions but who'd have guessed? :-)

  8. Well those piggies raised a smile for me too!! Gorgeous artwork as ever on your desk, and a tidy one is certainly more inviting. Mine is no longer clear but has remained orderly which is just as well as I have been prepping for a project with lots of 'bits'. Can't speak for tomorrow though!! Thanks for your visit, Happy WOYWW Cindy #17

  9. Hi Zsuzsa, the cabin is for me. I just need to get my stuff organised, I'm fed up with it being scattered around the house and having to search for stuff so it's going out there though that might be next year before everything is sorted, just trying to be realistic. That's interesting what your husband is doing. Pigs are very intelligent animals so this should prove very interesting. Hope you have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x15x

  10. Gorgeous pages. That's what I'm looking for with every class now - how to integrate their ideas into my style. And yours is shining through beautifully in all these pieces ♥

  14. Hi Zsuzsa, I really love your works inspired by the lessons. The left page may be a bit empty (?), but you must feel if it is finished like this or not. I *LOVE* the picture with the pigs! This project sound interesting, I would also enjoy working in such a field!

  16. Whizz day for sure, I’m late, sorry! Wonderful pic of your husband, how fun to have Netflix in on a project, it will be taken more seriously and viewed more widely which can only be a benefit. Love your productive results, isn't it lovely when the motivation to keep going strikes. I thought of you this morning, I emptied a cotton bud box and intend to do something ‘Zsuzsa’ to it!

  17. The Life Book Summit looks like fun! You have made some awesome pieces with their inspirations! I'm intrigued by the Oracle cards! Your hubby looks like he's having fun, and who wouldn't in a pen full of pigs! I wonder if we will get his show in Canada? Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Lindart #27

  18. For some reason it refused to print my comment.
I love the photo of the hubster - do you mean to say we will be seeing him on Netflix next year - really?
The journal page is lovely, I do like the background you made and then the drawing of the figure. The Oracle cards are lovely too but I must confess I do not know what they are - I am thinking of something along the lines of Tarot cards?
Saying that my favourite is the page where you have added your own twist. I love how you integrated them with our own style.
Thanks for sharing so much of your lovely work with us this week.
    Hugs, Neet 2 xx
