You can't really see much as I'm working on a top secret birthday card for my son's 15th birthday later this month - Oreo is conveniently lying right on it. All will be revealed in due course.
I do have another project though, that I can share. I made this earlier in the summer - a little fabric covered sewing box. Not that I sew much but I still needed somewhere to keep my threads and needles for the odd repair job. I used the Sizzix Scoreboards Treasure Box die to cut the box - I didn't have the right card for it (I used an empty a cereal box) - so it's a bit flimsy, but it serves its purpose quite well. I wish I could give you a tutorial, but I really just bodged my way through it - hence the crochet lace covering the untidy edges!
And now, just a few of the photos we took at Blenheim Palace. We were very lucky with the weather - it was nice and warm but not too sunny or hot and it didn't start raining until just after we had left.
Here's a triple selfie we took in the Secret Garden at Blenheim - I needed a photo of the three of us for my son's card as is our tradition and we didn't have any recent ones. My husband appears a bit rough around the edges as he's growing a beard but he's still not sure if he's going to keep it.
Toodaloo! I'll be around visiting, if not today than later this week definitely! xx
Hi Zsuzsa, lovely photo selection from Blenheim Palace. Not one we've visited yet. The box is delightful, love the fabric. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X

Lovely post, Zsuzsa. The photo of your desk is fab - you have the best craft company I can think of and reminds me of my lovely Bonnie - she delighted in plonking herself down wherever suited her. The sewing box is beautiful and very useful too. Lovely photos of your visit to Bleinham, especially the one of the three of you together. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #21
ReplyDeleteReally love the sewing box...I'd have to make a lot of them to fit my sewing bits and bobs in though lol. Bleinham palace photos are fab....so good to enjoy family together times.

The sewing box is gorgeous but Oreo posing on the desk made me smile. I used to go to Bleinham Palace a lot when I was at uni in Oxford, but havent been for ages. Thanks for sharing the photos. Happy WOYWW. Have a lovely week. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#12)
ReplyDeleteGreat the cat is hiding the cars and lovely pictures of you visit to Bleinham, in the 7th picture it looks as thought your son in purched on top of the rose,

That is such a brilliant photo of the three of you! Your hubby looks suitably hipster with his stubble, lol! I haven't been to Blenheim for years but remember it's an amazing place with so much to see - what a great idea using your Tesco vouchers to get a pass!
ReplyDeleteThat little box is delightful, who cares if it's flimsy, it really looks the part and is useful as well. Brilliant bit of bodging there, if I may say so!

Gosh, your son is growing up too quickly. Seems like yesterday I first met him in blogland as a young boy. Lovely looking family - look forward to seeing the card when it is finished.
ReplyDeleteGreat desk shot - with Oreo of course. How old is he now?
What a great idea to use your Tesco vouchers for a family day out and what a lot of lovely photos - in competition with Helen - you have shown us. Love that rose and the other photos are really interesting for me as it is somewhere I have never been and am not likely to. A real treat!
Hugs, Neet 7 xx
Forgot to say I love your sewing box, you made a terrific job of it and I love anyone who can make something like that out of an old box.
ReplyDeleteHugs, again, Neet xx
Pleased to see you had a lovely day out. The fabric covered box is lovely too. Oreo is a naughty cat I think but typical. I have a friend who has quite an old cat and recently he has decided to sit in unusual places, we think it's his age as he is so old he thinks he has nothing to loose in being the bad cat! Have a lovely woyww and a happy creative week, Angela x11x
ReplyDeleteHi Zsuzsa, love the sewing box, very pretty fabric and the crocheted lace finishes it beautifully. Blenheim looks a great day out. Meow to Oreo and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteThe box is delightful - it would really make me want to get my mending done just to get the box out! It sounds like you had a lovely time at Blenheim, it's a fabulous place isn't it, so much to see, and what a lovely photo of the three of you - I 'm looking forward to seeing the card that you and Oreo are making!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Diana x #15
Oreo is a good secret agent - guarding your secret card! Love it! I like your box and I really like that you were able to recycle a cereal box. Makes it that much more cool.
ReplyDeleteThe photos at the Blenheim Palace are simply gorgeous. Cloudy days make for the best photos. Lucky you.
Have a wonderful week.

Clever you, converting cereal boxes into useful and pretty...skill! I love the tradition for your birthday cards..and it’s a great picture of the three of you. Mr Dunnit grows a beard on a weekly basis because he almost literally gets up, dresses and goes to work...but, bu the time Friday rolls around, he says its itchy and off it comes! If its anything like my legs about two weeks after a waxing, I understand!! Sorry if thats too much information!! Am a bit staggered that your son is about to be 15...am sure it’s only about 6 weeks since we first met him as a youngster!!
ReplyDeleteLovely family photo, Zsuzsa, and all the other great photos from Blenheim too. My hubby has been there, but I haven't. I love your little sewing box! When I belonged to the Westcountry Embroiderers when we lived in Plymouth, we did sessions on box making and I made several. Mount board is quite good. I've got instructions somewhere, I'm sure! As for strategically-placed Oreo, clever boy hiding your secret project! Lol! Thank you for your visit. Your curried lentils sound absolutely delicious. We love spicy food, too. Unfortunately my "drive" ran out this p.m. and I still had things to do in the kitchen but I decided to leave it till tomorrow. I'm pretty tired at the moment and it's easy to get tempted to overdo things!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
