I did some more eco-dyeing over the weekend and experimented with different surfaces, laces, pieces of fabric, doilies, index cards, embossed cards, envelopes, music sheets, graph paper, etc and some of the papers had distress oxides on them. They remind me of the erosion bundles I did a few years ago. It was fun but I'll have to stop at one point because I have a huge stash now to use up!
I kept up with the Junk Journal July challenge as well - I love that I can work ahead when I have more time instead of having to wait for a new prompt to be released every day. I even have today's page ready, but I haven't posted it to Instagram yet. The prompts were: envelope, wanderlust, pattern, trash to treasure, favourite supply, in the garden, and morning.
That's it!
Photo heavy but not much to read.
Hope everyone's doing well. I'll be going around shortly!
Happy WOYWW!
Ohj Zsuzsa, those journals are adorable. `I love them. You must be so chuffed with what you have done. you definitely have the eye for all things crafting. When we have a crop day you must bring this journal for us to look at in great detail. ~it is the kind of thing that has to be seen and touched (gently of course). I love how you have put envelopes and pockets on the pages to hold things, these are what delight me when I see a journal.
ReplyDeleteI can see I will be returning to view them time and time again - they are so beautiful. Such a shame you have to go to work and not be at home crafting. Love that you have dyed anything that was nailed down. Well, almost.
Thanks so much for sharing your creativity, the eco dyeing is fantastic.
Hugs, a fan at 5 xx
Good morning, Zsusza! I've not been by in awhile. I like that 'slider'. I'm checking that out. Nice to see a side-by-side comparison. Creative Blessings! Kelly #25
ReplyDeleteYour pages are fantastic Zsusza, good that you can work at your own pace with them and a pleasure to flick back at. I'm sure you will find a very good use for your eco dye's, even in years to come. Isn't it amazing the effects that can be achieved.
ReplyDeleteHope the return to office work isn't too bad, my Son has been told he can continue to work at home which is great, he's been saving his travel costs putting it towards his new flat he's hoping to move into soon. I believe he's saved a pretty penny over the past 18 months.
Take care & Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey #9 xx
Oh such a fun visit, I like the me busy desk ! lots of goodies stashed in that pile. Beautiful results with your dying techniques. Great inspiration from your journal pages, Thanks for sharing it. Love all your layers. Answering your comment, on using playing cards, yes I use them if needed for challenges etc..some are just not my favorite and kind of tattered so are good for covering up ! I do love the JOKERS ! Oh boy winds and heavy rain, Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYour junk journal is nothing of the sort :) It is simply to pretty to be labelled "junk" and that's that. Loving the eco-dyeing and all the lovely little details on your journal pages. The Before&After slider is kinda cool. It is fab for those messy/tidy shots we all love to share. Nice find! And yeah I think a LOT of people hoped that employers would see the sense of letting people who could work from home after this unplanned experiment the whole world has been living thru, but I think we mostly knew they would drag people back to the office sooner or later. The Hubster works for a company (consulting) that had offices in NY. After 9/11 they literally went to work from home only for their entire international workforce! He has daily Zoom calls with people from South Africa, NY, CA, Florida, him in the UK, some place Eastern European, can't recall where, and even more places once a week for a specific call. They make it work and save a TON of money on office space :) Sorry off topic re: crafting LOL! But I do feel your pain. I have worked from home for 5 + years (when home was in London and my company was in DC) and thought then it was the way of the future....

What a huge difference a clean-up makes. I love the clean look. I was also in awe of your eco dyeing. Some look like they turned out better than others. Those doilies turned out great.
ReplyDeleteYour junk journal is AMAZING. Simply stunning. I was floored by how lovely it is. what an absolutely perfect project for July. Happy WOYWW from # 6.
I enjoyed the slider! what a clever thing that is - I do love a busy desk - well to be honest ANY desk would be good! your journal is, of course, gorgeous. Have a great week Happy WOYWW Helen #2
ReplyDeleteFabulous journal pages. Love that dyed lace. Did I read you walk 3 miles to the office and 3 miles back? You must be very fit! Happy WOYWW Angela #7
ReplyDeleteHi lovely Zsuzsa - have been enjoying your work on Insta but do love the blog with your chatting and seeing parts of projects together. I really love your eco-dying experiments - just beautiful. I have returned to my blogging practice today cos I miss a place to capture more detailed thoughts and links to inspiration/other parts of my process. I have just started holidays - we are opposite in that as well as seasons. My hands won't warm up today...we are mid Winter. Take care of you xo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous collection of art here today, beautiful journal pages you clever lady. Hope you have a lovely creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x16x
ReplyDeleteYour journal is just stunning, Zsuzsa. And what a tidy desk!! The before and after slider is rather fun. I could have used up all 100 shots just recently in my studio!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment and for all your kind thoughts. I am doing very well except my wretched hubby has given me his cold!! I hope it will be behind me by the time I have my follow-up appointment next week. Interesting thoughts on the gel presses - I agree, the branded one is way overpriced - a real rip-off! I was pleased to find a bargain one and I'm sure it will work just as well. Sometimes it is tempting to buy dies that don't get a lot of use but if you part with them, you will immediately find a use for them, guaranteed! I love your comparison with our craft spending and the weekly food budget! That makes me feel a whole lot better about spending all this money on stash lately! I consoled myself today that if things had been normal, I would have easily spent this amount, and more, if I'd been going to a craft show. My online retail therapy is having its effect - I am sure it is aiding my recovery!
Today I actually spent the afternoon in my newly tidied studio and did some painting! I made a start on the card for my surgeon - mapping out the design took a while but I've more or less completed the painting on the outer layer. My hubby brought me a tray of tea and he could actually find somewhere to put it! I can't get used to the room being so tidy.

Wow, your pages are just lovely, and I can see the prompts in them too which is a skill in itself, frankly! That slider thing works so well, it’s like a magic curtain. I prefer the before shot, obviously! Unmanageable paint water, sounds like it’s running riot over your desk…I suppose in a way it was, colouring everything you used it with rather than just being neutral!
ReplyDeleteHi Zsuzsa, thank you for sharing, all those pieces are magic! I always admire your creativity. I suppose you should be glad to go back to the office if that means the begin of normal life again, without restrictions of all kinds. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour junk journal pages are absolutely gorgeous - they just sing to me and I love everything about them. I love your eco dyed pieces - I had to put the brakes on doing that a couple of years ago as I have 2 large boxes, one filled with printed papers and the other with printed fabrics - it will take a life time to get through it all but I still want to make more - it's the unwrapping bit that I love best and find so addictive!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a big change going back to work wont' it - I hope you have a good week and stay safe and well,

Loving the JJ Zsuzsa - fabulous pages. Your eco dieing results are very impressive too. Good luck with the return to the office. Hubby has to go back on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting next week. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgous post, Zsuzsa...I can't decide whether I like the eco-dyed lace the best or the lovely textural aspect of your JJ. Wowza on both, regardless!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow the journal is amazing!! How ever do you find the time lol, I don't even work and my days just disappear - as discussed! Really love the lacy bits. Thanks for the visit, Happy WOYWW, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy xx #8
