I thought it was time for me to show my face again on
WOYWW and let you know that I and my family are okay in lock-down. We haven't left the house in more than two weeks. Luckily, I can work from home - and I'm quite busy too as I'm part of a team that works with pharmacies. On top of that I have homeschooling responsibilities for my son who's in year 10, studying for his GCSEs next year - currently on his Easter break. So it's hardly a holiday, but we're actually having a nice time together as a family. We can spend time outside in our garden enjoying the spring sunshine, so we don't even miss going out much. We could go on like this indefinitely, but of course I know that things will have to get back to some sort of normal soon as not everyone is having an easy time of this.
I even ventured into my craft room at the weekend inspired by
Roben-Marie Smith - and not for the first time rescuing me from a creative rut! She's taking part in the
Virtual Art Summit which runs until the end of the month. It's free to join with a voluntary donation. Roben-Marie's lesson inspired me to get inky again with the following results:
The book on my desk is destined to become a "Transitions Journal"which is another one of Roben-Marie's
free courses. That's a longer term project for me. You can also see those little cardboard drawers on my desk - I used the £5 off voucher from Craft Stash for Mother's Day to treat myself to the
Eileen Hull Scoreboards die that cuts them. Potentially, I could build an Advent Calendar at the end of the year, so could be quite useful.
Hope that was sweet and short and to the point. I have just two more photos to share: yet another stunning sunset experienced on Saturday and a photo of Oreo (aka pocket panther) sunning himself in the conservatory, which really comes into its own at this time of year.
Hope everyone's keeping safe! Will be around visiting soon! xx
I'm glad you're all keeping ok - we are doing much the same in our house. Keeping busy, lots of gardening etc and not venturing out more than we have to. The inky experimenting is lovely, I'd have known it was your work through the colour choices!!

So glad to hear that all is well Zsuzsa. I have to venture to the pharmacy today, but otherwise haven't been out for over a week and the last visit to collect medication. Love the look of the new project! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteI think we can safely say the crafters are all at home occupying their time productively. You do sound busy with all that you have going on at home. Stay safe and keep making such interesting projects.

Hi Zsuzsa! I love your new creations and I am glad to read that you and your family are healthy! That is the most important thing at the moment. Those are strange times, every day I think I will wake up and the nightmare will be over...
ReplyDeleteHi Zsuzsa, love the pic of Oreo getting the sun.The black cat we used to have, Ambrose, loved to sun himself, and his fur used to turn a russet colour after a few days sunbathing!Great job with all the artwork, looking fab. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #10 X
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you and hear that you're making the best of the situation....not a lot else we can do really.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Hi Zsuzsa. Glad you are all well and doing so much together as a family. It's fun trying to find new ways of spending time together - that's what my family has told me - to the extent that they have joined in with the "sadanduseless" re-created art thing on the internet - dressing up the eldest grandie as the Lady of Shalot!! Made a good job of it too...
ReplyDeleteYou may not have spent a long time in your art space - but you have certainly been busy there. Well done.
Glorious sunset photo - did you see the moon last night? It was ENORMOUS!
Take care of yourselves. Stay safe. God bless.

I am another who doesn't find staying home too hard. I was off ill for a week before the school closed, so have been off for a little longer- only going out when i have to to get supplies once a week. its so nice to be able to just slow down after having so much to do. Loving your inky art work. Take care and Keep safe . Soojay #18
ReplyDeleteHi ya Zsuzsa good to see and hear that you are all keeping well. If I had my eldest Son here and an extension to house both Mum's at the bottom of the garden I could get on with this life indefinitely too.. I really do enjoy the quieter side of life.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful artwork with you trademark blues I see involved. Reusing old books is one of the best forms of recycling and something I do most day's. When the council closed my community centre it was one of the first things I salvaged from the donated reading library I have an unhealthy collection of hardback reader's digest books just waiting for alteration hee hee..
Continue doing what you love and share when you can it's a different world we are all living in right now..
Happy Easter wishes & WoywW Tracey #24 xx
good to hear from you and that all is well. I'm being kept busy working from home too (work for a financial adviser; we're still busy) so don't have much time for all the netflix and FB live I keep being told we are all doing! LOVE the sunset. stunning. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteHi Zsuzsa, glad to hear you and your family are all doing well. I am working from home too, and count myself lucky that I can do so. I could work from home indefinitely, but not be on lockdown. I am missing my daughters and grandchildren so much. I can't wait to see them all again. Love the photo of Oreo relaxing in the conservatory, such a hard life for him! Have a lovely week and stay safe, hugs Heather xx #27
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you dipping your toe back in. Roben-Marie is so inspiring and your pieces are lovely. Might have to make time to visit this lesson ♥
ReplyDeleteNice to see you managing to do some crafty stuff. Oreo looks happy as though he's enjoying the Lock-down too. Wishing you a happy woyww and lots of crafty thoughts to keep you busy, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteLoving those pieces they are just gorgeous! I am incredibly grateful for my garden and my hobby, it hasn't really been a hardship for me to be at home apart from the constant worry about everyone and everything!! Stay home, stay safe, stay well, Happy WOYWW Cindy #26
ReplyDeleteAin't she awesome, Roben-Marie?! I LOVE the art pieces you made! I, too, have no trouble staying home (although I miss my work at the Zeeuws ARchives restoration atlier and my collegues) I spend most days in my own art-atelier or on the balcony reading and catching sunrays. Stay healty, safe and creative dear one! Hug from Holland, Marit #23
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you here again, Zsuzsa! I love your inky sheets - so very painterly! And Oreo looks mega-comfy! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that you are all doing well. I know what you mean about it not being a holiday - I am working full-time at home and trying to help my son who is two years behind yours. The art is gorgeous as ever. Take care and stay safe my friend. Happy Belated WOYWW. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#20)
ReplyDeleteLovely inky fun on your desk in your favourite signature colour and rust.
ReplyDeleteGosh doesn't time fly - I had no idea your son was so old now, I seem to remember him not even being a teenager or am I wrong? That has me thinking and wondering how old Oreo is now - he still looks majestic sat there in the conservatory.
Glad you are enjoying your garden as a family, I go for a walk each day around ours, thanks to it being large enough. I just wish others would do the same instead of going out and meeting up with others.
Stay safe and well and happy
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
How lovely to see you, very glad to hear that the three of you are doing well. I agree, it wouldn’t take much for me to adopt this as a permanent lifestyle! Lovely to see your art on the desk, some of your colour is like adding your signature, they are great. keep well and carry money enjoying! Xx
ReplyDeleteHi, just had to pop back and thank you for the visit to mine. Your comments were right, men have there garages so women need somewhere too though I have to say my hubby thinks it's a way of getting me and all the stuff out of the house but I have to say he has been brilliant at helping me get the stuff out of the loft and down the garden which wouldn't have happened as normally he's visiting schools at this time of the year to do the moderations so you could say I've given him something to stop him getting bored! Sending hugs, Angela xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Zsuzsa. I'm glad to hear that you are all well, and dealing well with the lockdown, including Oreo! Very interesting art pieces this time. I'm back on Celtic knots again at the moment!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi x #17
Thanks for your visit, Zsuzsa, and you are right about the kitties - it's often hard to work out which paws belong to which one! They've always been together, even in the womb, so they are bound to be close. They probably smell exactly the same to each other, especially with all the mutual washing that goes on. They are a delight together, aren't they! I've got Lily on my legs on the recliner as I type this, and Ruby is in the little house on the cat tree - her latest favourite place. The wool box is fading out of favour a bit! As we always say, there's no accounting for kitties...
ReplyDeleteGlad you recognised Phoebe eventually! It was funny looking at her photo again because I haven't looked at any pictures of her or Beatrice lately.
I'm glad you like my inky mandalas. I've finished colouring them now and I am very pleased with most of them. I am now back on another batch of Celtic knots and hope to get them all finished in time for this Wednesday's blog post!
Happy belated WOYWW (and by the way, it's never too late, up to 11.59 p.m. on Tuesday evening!!) and stay safe and well, all of you.
Shoshi x
PS Just noticed your PS haha! I agree - mightily relieved to have Boris out of hospital, and I hope he allows himself to recover properly at Chequers before he returns to work. We need him at the helm! I thought his speech was brilliant. I was so worried about him - it really was touch and go.
